Recycling waste glass in concrete production is an attractive option for reducing waste and protecting natural resources from further depletion for sustainable development. The purpose of this study was to effectively recycle waste glass and used it instead of cement for construction. The waste glass was ground into waste glass powder and their feasibility as a partial replacement of cement for cement concrete was evaluated. As a widely used engineering material, the mechanical properties of concrete have a decisive influence on the safety and stability of the structure.Concrete has low tensile strength and small deformation.Tensile strength and deformation are the most basic mechanical properties of concrete. It is an important part of studying concrete strength theory and failure mechanism. It is also the basis for studying the failure mechanism of concrete under multiaxial conditions, which leads to many studies. It is necessary to understand the influence of concrete failure mechanism and loading rate on the constitutive relationship of concrete. The uniaxial tensile test is the most direct method to determine the cracking and failure modes of concrete. The determined tensile strength is the basis for more accurate analysis of reinforced concrete structures. Therefore,it is significant to study the tensile properties by uniaxial tensile test.In this paper, the direct tensile test method was used to study the tensile strength of three kinds of waste glass powder concrete at five different loading rates, and the tensile stress-strain curve of the waste glass powder concrete was drawn.Based on the experimental data,it is shown that:(1)With the increase of the replacement rate of waste glass powder, the axial ultimate tensile strength of the waste glass powder concrete and the ratio of the ultimate strength of the splitting tensile strength to the standard cubic compressive strength show an increasing trend; The influence of waste glass powder on the stress-strain curve of concrete was analyzed. The axial tensile strength, splitting tensile strength and transformation relationship of waste glass powder concrete were given.(2)The failure modes and failure mechanisms of concrete specimens with 0%,10%and 20%of waste glass powder at five different loading rates were studied. When the waste glass powder concrete is damaged, the internal micro cracks are not fully expanded,or the expansion is insufficient, resulting in the destruction of the waste glass powder concrete aggregate. As the loading rate increases, the damage of the waste glass powder concrete aggregate increases significantly, and the tensile strength expressed is higher.(3)Uniaxial tensile failure is the basic failure mode, which contains the damage mechanism of material damage.Based on the parallel rod model PBS,the uniaxial tensile damage model of waste glass powder concrete is established, that is,the parallel model is modified. The damage relationship and the stress-strain curve in the test are very similar, which shows that the concrete uniaxial tension meso-damage model can be used for waste glass powder concrete.(4)The ultimate tensile strength of waste glass powder concrete increases with the increase of loading rate.In order to study the relationship between dynamic tensile strength and loading rate, and draw on the existing empirical formula, linear regression of the influence of loading rate and dynamic tensile strength is carried out.By fitting, the dynamic tensile strength increment is approximated to the loading rate.
