In recent years,with the strict control and treatment of environmental pollution in China,the application fields of coal-based activated carbon have been expanded and the output has been increased markedly.China has become the world's largest producer and consumer of activated carbon.The activated carbon industry of China mainly uses high quality anthracite coal as raw material and the coal tar as a binder to prepare columnar activated carbon.However,the use of coal tar is easy to pollute the environment and affect the cost of activated carbon products.Thsese also lead to the insufficient variety kind of activated carbon products in China and weaken the market competitiveness,which limit the development of China's activated carbon industry.Therefore,the use of new eco-friendly binder to produce columnar activated carbon is undoubtedly of great significance for improving the quality of China's activated carbon products and the economic benefits of enterprises.Based on Inner Mongolia's abundant coal resources,a new composite binder was used to prepare columnar activated carbon in this paper,and the main research contents and conclusions are as follows:1.With Inner Mongolia low-ash anthracite as the main raw material,the effects of coal type,coal blending ratio,binder amount,activation temperature and water vapor flow rate on the performance of activated carbon were studied by single factor test and orthogonal test.Finally,the optimal process conditions for preparing columnar activated carbon are as follows:the proportion of anthracite and Xinjiang gas-fat coal is 85:15,the amount of binder is 15%,the activation temperature is900°C,and the vapor flow rate is 0.5 mL·min-1.The burnoff of activated carbon prepared under the conditions is 62.23%,the strength is 96.85%,the ash is 12.17%,the iodine number is 1058 mg·g-1,and the methylene blue value is 265 mg·g-1.At the same time,experimental research shows that the activated carbon prepared by the new composite binder has better performance,and the new composite binder can replace coal tar as binder to prepare high quality columnar activated carbon.2.Preparation of desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon from various coals from Inner Mongolia.Based on the performance indexes such as wear resistance,compressive strength,ash and iodine value.Combined with the actual industrial production requirements,several high strength desulfurization and denitrification activated carbons with good performance is prepared.The research shows that under the selected process conditions,1#meager lean coal and 1#coking coal,2#anthracite coal,2#meager lean coal and 1#coking coal to prepare high strength desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon have better comprehensive performance.1#anthracite or 2#anthracite combined with 2#coking coal and non-stick coal,1#anthracite,2#anthracite or 3#anthracite combined with gas-fertilized coal and non-stick coal respectively have good comprehensive performance of high strength desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon.The high strength desulfurization and denitrification activated carbon prepared by the experiment meets the requirements of the ideal activated coke.When the coal blending ratio of 1#anthracite or 2#anthracite to gas-fat coal is 60:40,the prepared activated coke has excellent comprehensive performance,its wear resistance is over 99%,the compressive strength reaches 800 N,and the iodine value is over 650 mg·g-1.
