| Infectious disease and increasing concern of a worldwide pandemic have emphasized the importance of research on antimicrobial materials.Among the antibacterial materials,only the antibacterial molecules of the structural antibacterial polymer do not spread and are not depleted,and the antibacterial function lasts for a long time without causing drug resistance.Water-based acrylic materials have many excellent properties and are widely used in home and medical industries.Synthetic structural antibacterial waterborne acrylic resins are of great significance.Waterborne polyacrylate(hs-WA)was synthesized by semi-continuous solution polymerization using methyl methacrylate(MMA),butyl acrylate(BA),hydroxypropyl acrylate(HPA),acrylic acid(AA)as monomers,benzoyl peroxide(BPO)as initiator and ethanol as co-solvent.The effects of monomer ratio,initiator content,reaction time and reaction temperature on the properties of the resin were investigated.When MMA:BA is 1:1,the contents of AA and HPA are 4.85%and 20%,respectively,the total amount of BPO added is 3%of monomer,the reaction temperature is 80~oC,and the dropping time and holding time are 3h and 4h,respectively,the produced waterborne acrylic resin is stable and high quality.In the experiment,a quaternary ammonium salt antibacterial agent-3-(methoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride(TSA)was introduced into the resin to synthesize structural antibacterial waterbrone polyacrylate(hs-WAT).The samples were characterized by FTIR,~1HNMR,contact angle,SEM,TG and DSC.The antibacterial properties were tested by colony counting method and inhibition zone method.The results showed that the introduction of TSA did not change the surface morphology of polyacrylate,but resulted the water contact angle increase from 78.5~o to 87.5~o.The thermal properties of samples were enhanced and the decomposition temperature were between 299 to 456~oC.The flexibility of the chain increased(Tg=8.3 ~oC).The antibacterial performance analysis showed that when the mass fraction of TSA was 4%based on resin solid content,the as-prepared hs-WAT film could eliminate over 99.9%of E.coli(Gram-positive bacteria)and S.aureus(Gram-negative bacteria)and no inhibition zone formed,which indicated that TSA did not migrate and the synthesized hs-WAT was non-permeable contact antibacterial material.Furthermore,another azole-based antibacterial agent-Fludioxonil was modified by GMA,and GFludioxonil with double bond group was synthesized.and then GFludioxonil was incorporated as a monomer to obtain a structural antibacterial waterbone polyacrylate(hs-WAF).The results showed that the introduction of GFludioxonil resulted the contact angle of water increase from 76~o to 90~o,and the surfce free energy decreased from 27.1mN/m to25.1mN/m.The thermal properties of samples were enhanced and the decomposition temperature were between 280~oC and 480~oC.When the mass fraction of GFludioxonil was 4.5%based on resin solid content,the as-prepared hs-WAF film could eliminate over 99.9%of E.coli(Gram-positive bacteria)and S.aureus(Gram-negative bacteria)and no inhibition zone formed,which indicated that GFludioxonil did not migrate and the synthesized hs-WAF was a non-permeable contact antibacterial material. |
