Metallurgical equipment belongs to the discrete manufacturing industry,in which large-scale equipment is common,and has feature of high level of customization,large variety,single and small batch.Under the model of design to order,R&D staff has to modify or redesign according to each order,leading to longer product design cycle and higher cost.Aiming to help metallurgical equipment manufacturing enterprises solve the problem in product development process and enhance the management level of R & D and innovation soft power as well,this thesis presents a method for metallurgical equipment product design process reengineering.The main contents are as follows,Firstly,this paper analyze of current state of metallurgical equipment product design process.Value and waste are defined.And then the current state of value stream is mapped,the waste of the process is identified.After the cause analysis,methods to eliminate waste are put forward.Next is the approach for metallurgical equipment product design process improvement.According to the last chapter of the root cause analysis and proposed improvement ideas,an overall architecture of modular design methods is built up from three different aspects,which are the level,life cycle and the module types.The methods consist of three parts,including w-type development mode with the ideas of system engineering,modular approach for customization and modular approach for the whole life cycle.Thirdly,business process reengineering and evaluation of product development are put forward,including the modeling,steps,implementation roadmap of business process reengineering.After reengineering,the effect is evaluated via analytic hierarchy process.Based on the above theoretical study,the R & D process of 500 kA pot tending machine of SY Company is selected for application verification,and the effect of BPR is evaluated to prove its validity.
