With the development of science and technology, the living standards of society are constantly improved, and the disposable materials,e.g.,antibacterial papers, wet wipes, and diapers have been widely used in daily life.To meet the requirement of environmental protection, green, and low carbon, these disposable materials should be less impact on the eco system. Therefore,it is necessary to develop the efficient methods for the evaluation of the disposable materials,to replace old methods, such as the inhibition zone method for evaluating the antibacterial property and the biodegradation duration of the materials. The focuses of this work were:Firstly,a method for rapid evaluation of the antibacterial property of antibacterial paper was established, based on the headspace gas chromatographic technique?HS-GC?.By detecting the amount of carbon dioxide generated in the prescribed culture condition, the growth degree of bacteria was indirectly determined. The results showed that the culture time of the bacteria was 6h8h,which greatly improved the test efficiency in the evaluation of the antibacterial property of antibacterial paper, compared with the traditional method?inhibition zone method,48h72h?.Secondly,the amount of the benzethonium chloride in the sanitary products and the synergistic bactericidal effect of benzethonium chloride and polyhexamethylene biguanide were investigated, based on the above HS-GC.The results showed that:?1?when the content of benzethonium chloride was 0.02%,the sterilization rate could reach 98%,which was much lower than the disinfectant content of common sanitary wipes?0.08%?in the market.Since organochlorides have a certain irritation to human skins, this study provides a good guidance for industry to select a rational usege of benzethonium chloride in their products.?2?there was a synergistic effect between benzethonium chloride and polyhexamethylene biguanide to suppress bactericidal growth,in which the ratio of 1:1 provided the best effect.Thirdly,as required by the sub-project of“Key Technologies for Green Product Certification for Infant Diapers”in the national key project“Key Technology Research on Green Product Certification in the Field of Light Industry and Daily Chemicals”?2017YFF0211506?,we must to find an alternative method to evaluate the biodegradability of several common disposable materials in the project period.Based on the literature data of material biodegradation?for a 30d's period?and a new method developed for evaluating the chemical degradation at the given conditions?1mL H2SO4 of 7.1mol/L and 8mL K2Cr2O7 of0.2 mol/L,80°C,4h?,a correlation between biodegradation and chemical degradation was established. The results showed that the relationship between them were semi-logarithmic.
