Friction and wear are the most common phenomena in mechanical systems and industry, and they are also the basic aspects of tribology. To thoroughly study the phenomenon of friction and wear,it is necessary to analyze the surface morphology and contact state of the friction pair, which is also the basis for studying the mechanism of tribology. In this paper, the effects of different surface topography on tribology properties are studied by experiments with bearing area curve, optimal roughness theory and micro-texture technology. The main research contents are as follows:Friction coefficient and wear are the most important metrics, and rapid quantification helps to better study the relationship between surface topography and tribology. In this paper, the bearing area curve is introduced into calculating wear amount, and combined with the concept of repositioning,a new method for calculating the wear amount is proposed as the modified bearing area cure method.Compared with the traditional surface profile method, the similarity of the wear amount calculated by these two methods is as high as 96%,verifying the rationality and feasibility of the modified bearing area curve method.Since the process of matching and stitching is reduced, the purpose of quickly calculating the wear amount can be realized, and the application of the 3-D wear measurement of the modified bearing area curve method is realized by 3-D measurement. The tribology of different roughness surfaces of H13 steel were analyzed by the friction coefficient and wear loss, and the optimum roughness surface was confirmed to be R_a 0.083?m(400#sandpaper polished surface). The mechanism of the optimal surface is analyzed based on bearing area curve:when the different roughness surfaces are in contact, the length L of the support surface is different, which causes different stress of the roughness peaks, and results different tribological properties. The target bearing area curve can be extracted from the best roughness surface, which provides a reference for the design of surface micro-texture morphology. The effects of laser processing parameters(spot spacing, output power, processing times)on micro-texture depth were studied by orthogonal experiment. The effects of micro-texture parameters(depth, density)on bearing area curve were studied by single factor control variable method. The optimal micro-texture parameters are confirmed base on the target bearing area curve:26?m depth,32%density,and the best processing parameters are:0.005mm spot spacing,20%output power, processing 5 times. The sample processed with this parameter texture is called the matching textured sample, and the tribology properties of smooth surface, target surface, matching texture and general texture samples were compared. The results show that the matching texture surface has short running-in time and the lowest friction coefficient, and the existence of micro-texture makes the wear form from the adhesive wear becomes abrasive wear exhibiting better tribological properties.
