| Epoxy glass flake paint has been widely used in various types of offshore platforms,ocean vessels,chemicals tanks,because of its excellent property of chemical resistance,severe corrosion resistance,easy to apply and the moderate price.As the environmental protection paint,the high solid epoxy glass flake paint greatly reduces the emissions of the aromatic hydrocarbons,esters and other solvents while the related coating performance improves immeasurably.At present,it exactly meets the development requirements about the low VOC emissions regulation in our country,furthermore,the application prospect is wider due to the minimum modification for the manufacture method and application process to the traditional solvent based epoxy paint,which is being used widely now.In this paper we optimize the basic composition of high solid epoxy glass flake paint base on the related physical and chemical properties of different epoxy resins,hardeners,active additives,pigments and fillers,research the effect factors on performance of high solid epoxy glass flake paint,meanwhile,improve its basic formulation base on the problems happened on application site with different work environment and confirm the instructive application process for application site.This paper shows that the solvent free and low molecular weight epoxy resin for type "E" of bisphenol A epoxy is used as the basic resin,the isocyanate polymer adducts is taken as the main flexibility additive for improving the epoxy coating’s property of flexibility and impact resistance,the cashew nut modified phenolic amine is chosen as curing agent that can meet the requirements of normal application and curing under the environment of low temperature and wet while increasing the coat film’s solid content and reducing VOC emission;the appropriate proportion extender of glass flake and corundum powder is used as the main filler.It is developed the high solid content epoxy glass flake paint with the excellent property of chemicals resistance,severe corrosion resistance,balance application and the economic performance base on the present produce process of solvent based epoxy paint.The performance for corrosion resistance and chemicals resistance of the high solid glass flake paint of EPOFEND GLASS 30 exceeds the related requirements of trade standard HG/4336-2012 with its salt resistance property is more than 3000h,the corrosion wide of its acceleration line is 5.3mm and acid resistance is 25%H2S04×63d;the corrosion resistance property of EPOFEND GLASS 50 pass the simulated critical corrosion test of 25 cycles(QUVA72h+Salt fog72h+Freezing24h),which is total 4200h and the corrosion wide of acceleration line is 4.0mm,furthermore the cathodic disbonding diameter is 18.6mm after 4200h immersion in sea water,the corrosion resistance performance meets the Norway standard requirements of NORSOK M501 system 7,which rules the coatings apply on the splash or tidal range zone of offshore platform shall be prequalified.Its acid resistance reaches to the high standard of 50%H2SO4×35d. |
