Petrochemical wastewater is a recalcitrant wastewater characterized as high-concentration contaminants,complex composition and high biological toxicity.A large amount of SM/PO wastewater,acrylic acid and ester wastewater and phenol acetone wastewater were produced during refining.These wastewater have a complex compositions and a high concentration of organic compounds,including ketones,aldehydes,esters,carboxylic acids,benzenes and sulfate.It is generally considered that these wastewater are difficult to be treated.In the current study,pilot-scale experiments were conducted for the treatment of POSM wastewater,acrylic acid and ester wastewater and phenol acetone wastewater using a combination process,which is composed of ABGR,hydrolysis acidification,MBR and ozone oxidation.The feasibility of the treatment process were investigated for providing engineering guidance and technical support for petrochemical industry.The results showed the combination process was effective for the treatment of POSM wastewater,acrylic acid and ester wastewater,phenol acetone wastewater and mixed wastewater.All effluentscan achieve discharge requirement.The influent concentrations of POSM wastewater,acrylic acid and ester wastewater,phenol-acetone wastewater,and mixed wastewater after a certain proportion of blending were 8400 mg/L,19000 mg/L,3500 mg/L,and 9200 mg/L,respectively.The degradation rates of COD after the treatment process reached to 99.74%,99.77%,98.64% and 99.57%,respectively.The COD concentration in effluent was below 39 mg/L,44 mg/L,47 mg/L,and 39 mg/L,respectively,which meet the effluent standard.During the start-up period of ABGR,addition of bacteria agents promoted the microorganism growth and enhanced system stability.According to the experimental results,bacteria agent played a significant role during the whole operating period.On-site pilot experiment showed that the ABGR,hydrolysis acidification,MBR and ozone oxidation treatment process are effective on high concentration petrochemical wastewater treatment.The treated effluent of SM/PO wastewater,acrylic acid and ester wastewater,phenol acetone wastewater and their blending meet the discharge standard.
