| For coal miners, work stress represents a threat and an obstacle towards achieving a sustainable dimension of safety behavior at work. And in coal enterprise, work stress is a greater threat and challenge for the sustainable safety behavior of miners and the sustainable development of coal mining due to the confined spaces and particularity of work environment. For coal miners,in the context of high-intensity work stress, they not only face physicaldiscomfort, but also face various kinds of psychological stress, which is more likely to cause their unsafe behavior decisions. Therefore,it is particularly important to explore the psychological safety behavior of miners. However, the existing literatures on safety and health in coal industry in China mainly on analyzing the physical safety behaviors of employees,is short of research on revealing the psychological and behavioral studies of safety and health. In fact, the psychological safety behavior of employees play an important role in their final behavioral decision-making and the safety production of coal enterprises. Therefore, the current research needs to strengthen the analysis and discussion of psychological decision-making behaviors of employees. This study first proposes the psychosocial safety behavior of miners from the level of psychological safety. And then, using the theoretical background of the psychology of sustainability and sustainable development, the psychological capital related to safety of miners is used as an intermediary variable and the psychosocial safety climate of organizations is used as a moderating variable to further explore the mechanism of work stress on the psychological safety behavior of miners.Data were collected with a questionnaire survey and analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Science(IBM SPSS).The hierarchical regression analysis and the Bootstrap method were used to verify the theoretical model of the influence mechanism of work stress on the psychosocial safety behavior of miners. The empirical analyses indicated that the work stress of miners negatively affects their psychosocial safety behavior. What’more, the psychological capital related to safety of miners mediates the negative effect of work stress on the psychosocial safety behavior. This study also found some evidence that the psychosocial safety climate buffers the relationship between work stress and psychological capital related to safety and the negative effect of work stress on psychosocial safety behavior via the psychological capital related to safety, specifically, the higher the level of psychosocial safety climate, the weaker the negative impact of work stress on psychological capital related to safety;on the contrary, the stronger the negative impact;and the higher the level of psychosocial safety climate, the weaker the indirect relationship between work stress and psychosocial safety behavior through psychological capital related to safety;on the contrary, the stronger the indirect relationship.Conclusion.This study expanded the understanding of psychosocial safety behavior in the context of work stress and effectively integrated the comprehensive role of psychological capital related to safety and psychosocial safety climate in the influence process of "work stress-psychosocial safety behavior".These results provide theoretical support and practice instruction for sustainable safety behaviors under high intensity work stress by relying on organizational factor intervention(psychosocial safety climate)and employee individual factor intervention(psychological capital related to safety). |
