As an important function of DTS(Dispatcher Training Simulator),fault simulation function plays an important role in training dispatchers to deal with various accident situations.The fault simulation function program independently developed by North China Electric Power University has the disadvantages of slow fault calculation,the limited types of faults that can be handled,the low degree of automation,and the lack of functionality of the protection module components.In response to the above problems,this paper completed the following work:(1)The overall structure and main flow of power system fault simulation are analyzed.According to the characteristics of differences between fault simulation and the simulation of normal operation of power system,some existing data structures are improved and new data structures are introduced.(2)A fault calculation program based on sparse matrix technology is designed to improve the computational efficiency.A standardized computer fault calculation method is adopted to enhance the adaptability of the program to complex faults.The fault calculation process control function is developed.The result of fault calculation is effectively processed,which improves the correctness of the protection module and provides data support for fault recorder simulation function.(3)The fault simulation program is tested based on the simple system and actual grid data.The test results show that the fault calculation results and the operation of the protection module with the fault current direction component are in line with the expectations,which can meet the requirements of the fault simulation function.
