The installe d capacity of hydroe lectric generating set increases gradually.This situation raises the require ment of safe and stable operation of the unit as well as meets the demand of e lectric power.As the most effective mean,re pairing and ma intaining time ly the hydro generating sets,can improve the re liability of unit operation.With the effic ient development of hydropower industry,the proble ms such as limited time,high tra ining cost and low repeatability of the traditiona l tra ining methods on maintenance are becoming more and more prominent.The deve lopment of virtua l rea lity technology has provide d new ideas for solving these problems.In this paper,virtua l tra ining platform for hydra ulic turbine governor is studied and develope d by using virtua l reality technology.During the deve lopment,Solid Works modeling software was used to realize the construction of the turbine governor mode l and the design of assembly.Deep Exploration and Vrml Pad,were selected to rea lize the modification of the mode l file.The programming of Component O bject Model(CO M)was used to resolve the technology deve lopme nt of a utomation based on Cortona interpreter.The module of know ledge le vel training and disassembly eva luation,and the design of V irtua l Reality Model Language(VRML)V irtua l animation were realized by using virtua l interaction under the C++ platform according to the expected target.Open Graphics Library(O pen GL)technology is used to realize the collision detection of the virtua l scene and visua lization of hydraulic system flow move ment process.Through the platform,the trainers can learn the principle of the structure and the working of turbine governor syste matically,master the dismantling and assembling process of hydra ulic turbine governor and evaluate the contents of the turbine.The achieve ment has effective ly solve d the problems of the ma intenance personnel of turbine governor to some extent.It improve d the traditional tra ining environme nt,and stimulated the enthusiasm of staff tra ining.And provided va luable reference for the realization of electric power production,cost saving and ecologica l training.It is believe d that this technology will achieve greater progress and development in the future.
