As the key node of smart grid,smart substations are directly related to the strategic goal of building a strong smart grid in China.However,with the hacking attacks on Ukrainian and Israeli power grids,smart grid infrastructure and key nodes have been frequently suffered organized and targeted attacks.Smart substations are facing more and more security threats.The smart substation communication messages,such as GOOSE message,hasn't been protected by the security communication model because of its real-time requirement.Therefore,exploring and constructing a security communication model of GOOE messages is necessary for ensuring the safe and stable of smart substations and achieving the strategic goal of building a strong smart grid of our country.According to the security requirements of IEC 61850 and IEC 62351 for GOOSE messages,this paper establishes the GOOSE message security communication model,overall architecture and implementation flow,which balance the performance of security and real-time.Based on the study on the structural characteristics of GOOSE messages in-depth,the key information of GOOSE messages is defined in order to solve the contradiction between the security and real-time performance of the messages found in the simulation,and the key information encryption method is designed to solve this inconsistency problem.This paper designs the AES algorithm encryption and decryption module and analyzes the modules by RTL simulation to verify the correctness,real-time and resource occupancy of the algorithm.This paper designs the CBC mode to realize the practical application of the AES algorithm based on the GOOSE message.This paper designs the SHA-256 authentication Algorithm module and analyzes the modules by RTL simulation to verify the correctness of the algorithm,real-time and resource occupancy.This paper completes the implementation of the model on the FPGA hardware platform.In order to test three elements of information security CIA,it designs and completes the three elements of confidentiality,integrity,and availability on the hardware implementation platform of the model.Confidentiality testing includes linear analysis testing and correlation.Through testing the three elements of the CIA,the feasibility of the model is proved.And the security performance of the smart substation message communication is improved.
