| Objective:To identify the clinical efficacy of Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture treating blood stasis-type lumbar muscle strain, through comparing the effectives of Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture on treatment of blood stasis lumbar muscle strain.Method:60 patients were selected for this clinical research and assigned into treatment group(the group using Zhuang medicine acupuncture treatment)and control group(the group using acupuncture treatment)randomly, and each group consists of 30 patients. Both the two groups of patients were treated with the same acupuncture points and received 30 min treatment each time and 2 times per week for 8 weeks. The differences of treatment effect of the two groups were investigated after treatment. All measurements were recorded and evaluated before the first treatment and after the full course of the treatment,to evaluate the comprehensive efficacy of the Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture treating blood stasis-type lumbar muscle strain.Visual Analogue Score(VAS)and Spinal Mobility Score were recorded immediately after the first treatment,to evaluate the immediate effects of the Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture treating blood stasis-type lumbar muscle strain.Oswestry Disability Index Questionnaire(ODI)was done after the full course of the treatment,to evaluate the effective rate of the Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture treating blood stasis-type lumbar muscle strain. The Oswestry Disability Index Questionnaire Scale(ODI)was used as the indicator to evaluate the efficacy.Result:Before treatment, the gender, age and all scales of two groups of patients were compared. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment, two groups of patients were baseline consistency in all aspects and they were comparable.Immediately after the first treatment, patients were assessed for Visual analogue scale(VAS)and Spinal Mobility score.Firstly, compared data before and after the treatment for patients of two groups respectively, the scores were reduced after the treatment(P <0.01),it indicated that symptoms were alleviated after the treatment. Then compared data for Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture group and Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture group,it showed that there was no statistically difference between two groups(P>0.05),which indicated that the instant analgesic effect of Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture group and control group Acupuncture group were the same.Overall evaluation was done to all patients after the end of the eighth treatment.Evaluation items included the Oswestry Disability Index Questionnaire(ODI),Visual Analogue Score(VAS),Spinal Mobility Score, and Clinical Score Integral Scale. The scores of all scales for both groups after the eighth treatment were lower than that before treatment(P <0.01),it indicated that the treatment was effective.Compared two groups on Oswestry Disability Index Questionnaire(ODI),Visual Analogue Score(VAS)and Spinal Mobility Score before and after the treatment,Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture group was more effective than the control group Acupuncture group(P <0.05).Compared two groups on Clinical Score Integral Scale, there was no statistically difference between the two groups(P> 0.05).According to the evaluation of the Oswestry Disability Index Questionnaire(ODI),the overall effect was compared between two groups after the eighth treatment. Results showed that the total effective rate for Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture group was 96.7%,control group Acupuncture group was 90%.By Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test analysis, the overall efficacy of Zhuang Medicine Acupuncture group and control group Acupuncture group in treating blood stasis-type lumber muscle strain were the same(P> 0.05).Conclusion:Zhuang medicine acupuncture has a good clinical effect on the treatment of blood stasis-type lumbar muscle strain, and also shows the positive preferment to help ease the pain and improve the quality of life after lumbar muscle strain. |
