| Objective(1)To understand the status of AIDS-related knowledge,attitudes and behaviors of migrant workers in some areas of Guangxi,and analyze the influencing factors of AIDS-related knowledge;(2)To understand the AIDS health education needs of migrant workers in some areas of Guangxi;(3)Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing student-led using a face-to-face health education for migrant workers combined with WeChat public platform on AIDS health education,explore the forms of AIDS health education that are applicable to the migrant workers’groups,which are economical,effective,and wide-ranging and are expected to be developed in the long term,and provide evidences for the training of nursing students as AIDS advocates in rural areas and using new media to carry out AIDS health education.Methods During the baseline investigation period,183 student investigators from Guangxi Medical University were trained and organized to survey migrant workers in Nanning and Guigang.They used a convenient sampling method and used a self-made questionnaire to investigate in the form of a smartphone scan QR code.Recover and analyze the questionnaire,and formulate the contents and forms of this AIDS health education in a targeted way according to the AIDS knowledge of the surveyed subjects and relevant knowledge needs;During the intervention phase,56 nursing students from Nanning City and Guigang City in Guangxi were trained and assessed as AIDS health education promoters.Volunteers were organized to provide AIDS health education in the form of small lectures and WeChat communication for migrant workers during the winter holidays.The effect of health education was evaluated by means of anonymity investigation on the internet comparing the cognitive differences of the subjects before and after the intervention.The effect of this health education was evaluated by comparing the differences in cognitive perception before and after.This study used descriptive statistics,χ~2 test,single factor analysis,Two-class Logistic regression analysis and other statistical methods to analyze the baseline survey data,used theχ~2 test to evaluate the intervention effect.Results1.AIDS KAP Status of Migrant Workers in Some Areas of GuangxiThe overall awareness rate of AIDS-related knowledge among migrant workers in some areas in Guangxi was 37.85%."AIDS is the epidemic"has the highest rate of awareness(84.66%),and"how long after the infection can be detected"the lowest rate of awareness(22.51%).17.33%of migrant workers said they could accept work with AIDS patients.The opposition rates for premarital,same-sex,and extra-marital sex were 23.71%,67.93%,and 71.71%.The incidence of non-marital(Excluding sex between unmarried couples,especially extramarital affairs,one-night stand feeling,finding a lady,etc)and homosexual acts was 24.70%and 4.17%.Two-class Logistic regression analysis showed that high education(OR=2.672),sympathetic AIDS patients(OR=0.599),active understanding of AIDS knowledge(OR=0.528),and AIDS health education(OR=2.999)are protective factors for AIDS awareness among migrant workers in some areas of Guangxi.2.AIDS Health Education Demand for Migrant Workers in Some Areas of Guangxi90.24%of respondents believe that it is necessary to carry out AIDS health education for them,but only 58.18%have received relevant education."How to prevent AIDS,""What to do after getting AIDS,"and"How to detect AIDS virus"are what they most want to know.Internet,posters,and film and television are the main ways for them to acquire relevant knowledge,but the Internet,film and television,and medical staff are the way they want to learn.3.Effect of nursing students-led of AIDS health education on migrant workersAfter health education,the total awareness of AIDS knowledge among 280migrant workers in Guangxi increased from 40.36%to 81.43%,completing the requirements of the country.The correct answer rate of 21 evaluation indicators(including AIDS general knowledge,prevention and detection knowledge,transmission route knowledge,etc.)was significantly higher than before the intervention(P<0.001).The awareness rate of the three AIDS detection technologies was the most obvious among the“HIV detection sites”,“China to provide free AIDS counseling and virus testing”,and“the time of detection after HIV infection”.Increased by 34.65%,32.50%and 31.78%,respectively.Conclusion(1)The migrant workers in some areas of Guangxi have poor knowledge of AIDS knowledge,open sexual attitudes,high incidence of non-marital sexual behavior,low condom use rate,low HIV test intention,and negative attitude towards HIV/AIDS patients;(2)Of the migrant workers,those with a high level of education,sympathizing with AIDS patients,who are willing to actively study AIDS knowledge,and who have experienced AIDS health education have better AIDS awareness;(3)At present,AIDS promotion in Guangxi cannot meet the needs of migrant workers.In the future,it is necessary to increase the proportion of medical personnel and online publicity,and focus on publicizing AIDS prevention,detection and treatment knowledge;(4)The awareness rate of AIDS-related knowledge among migrant workers has been greatly improved through the combination of WeChat public platform and nursing student-led AIDS health education;(5)Nursing student-led of AIDS health education to migrant workers based on the WeChat public platformare feasible and effective,low in cost,have a wide range of benefits,and are expected to continue. |
