Objective1 The purpose of using health empowerment education in elderly patients with ischemic stroke is to understand the cognition,demand and experience of patients’ right to health empowerment theory.Study on the significance of health education in elderly patients with ischemic stroke by implementing empowerment education in Clinical Nursing work.2 The effects of enabling health education on the activities of daily life and self-efficacy of stroke patients were investigated by questionnaire and data analysis.3 In order to improve the self-care ability of elderly patients with ischemic stroke,and reduce the burden of family care through the intervention of nursing.To promote the application of empowerment theory in stroke patients,to provide theoretical basis.Methods This study uses the method of cross-sectional investigation,from November 2016 to November 2017,the elderly patients with ischemic stroke hospitalized in two wards of Kaifeng Huai River Hospital in Henan Province were selected,and two wards were randomly divided into intervention group(Empowering Education Group)and control group(General Education Group),which included 40 patients in each ward according to the order of admission time.The research tools used the patient’s basic data questionnaire,the daily life Activity ability Assessment scale,the general self-efficacy scale,the stroke patient’s nursing evaluation scale,and investigated the selected objects.The control group(General Education Group)was given routine nursing in neurology department.The intervention group(Empowering Education Group)to use the enabling nursing health education intervention,intervention time is 14 days.Before the beginning of nursing intervention two groups of patients were investigated by using the research tool of this study.After the nursing intervention,the two groups of patients were surveyed again,and the data were collected for statistical analysis.This research uses SPSS20.0 statistical software to establish database,input data,and carry on statistical analysis.The data were described by means,standard deviation,examples and percentages,and compared between groups by independent sample t-test and ANOVA.Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between self-efficacy and empowerment nursing.Results1 Before the implementation of nursing intervention,the activities of daily life(ADL),self-efficacy and empowerment nursing level of the two groups were all at a low level,and there was no statistically significant difference with each other(P > 0.05).2 After the implementation of health education,the scores of activities of daily life,self-efficacy and empowerment nursing level of the two groups were improved,and the empowerment education group was better than the regular education group.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3 There is a positive correlation between self-efficacy score and empowerment nursing score in elderly patients with ischemic stroke,and positive correlation between each dimension score.Correlation coefficient r between 0.351~0.713.Conclusions1 The application of empowerment education to the elderly patients with ischemic stroke intervention,improve the patient’s understanding of their own disease,effectively improve the patient’s ability to manage their own health,promote the rehabilitation of patients.2 Stroke brings great harm to patients’ physical and mental health.The implementation of empowering nursing health education can effectively improve the self-confidence of patients to deal with diseases and improve the level of self-efficacy of patients.3 The intervention of health empowerment in the elderly patients with ischemic stroke can improve the ability of the patients to empower their health and enhance their ability to manage their own health.
