| Objective To compare the clinical features,pathological characteristics and survival differences of patients with left and right colon cancer,and the factors affecting the prognosis of left and right colon cancer patients.In order to provide a scientific basis for further study on the pathogenesis of left and right colon cancer and the prevention and treatment of colon cancer.Methods A total of 398 patients with colon cancer from 2010.1 to 2015.12 in Medical University Of Anhui affiliated hospital were selected as the research objects.All patients were confirmed by pathological biopsy for colon cancer and radical resection of colon cancer.All the patients of the experimental group fully informed consent,patients take access to medical records and follow-up survey collected the patient’s age,gender,location,symptoms,pathology,postoperative staging,treatment methods.The prognosis of patients’ survival was mastered by telephone and outpatient follow-up.According to the different position of colon lesions,all patients were divided into left colon and right colon cancer,using SPSS16.0 software,398 cases of colon cancer patients using Kaplan Meier method to draw survival curves by Cox multi factor regression analysis to explore the predictors of survival were retrospectively analyzed between left and right colon cancer tumor staging,clinical manifestations,pathological features,distant metastasis of and to explore the possible factors affecting prognosis.Results Cox regression analysis showed that tumor location,gross shape,distant metastasis and TNM staging were predictors of survival prognosis of colon cancer patients.The MST was 36.0 months.The MST in the left and right colon cancer group was 39.0 months and 32.0 months respectively.Compared with right colon cancer,the risk of death from left colon cancer decreased by 22%,P = 0.026.The left and right colon cancer have significant differences in staging,tumor diameter,tumor markers,initial symptoms(P < 0.05),compared with the left colon,right colon cancer lesions were larger,staging later.Conclusions By analyzing the epidemiological characteristics,initial symptoms,pathological characteristics and prognosis of left and right colon cancer,we can conclude that the survival prognosis of patients with left colon cancer is better than that of patients with right colon cancer,and the survival time is longer.The right colon is more malignant than that of left semicolon.Tumor location,gross typing and staging may be the predictors of colon cancer survival. |
