Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is one of the most common autoimmune diseases that can affect a variety of organs and tissues, and the development of renal disease is the most important predictor of its morbidity and mortality. The clinical presentation of lupus nephritis is highly variable, ranging from mild asymptomatic proteinuria to rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis or renal failure. In the diagnosis of LN,renal biopsy provides an important basis for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the patients, but in recent years, the pathology of LN has also been updated.Meanwhile, several new detection index are gradually applied to the diagnosis and prognosis of SLE and LN.In terms of treatment,a combination of systemic corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents is the classical treatment of SLE and LN.However,a significant proportion of patients have a poor response to classical treatment.Patients difficutly obtaining a remission of SLE would inevitably lead to multiple organ failure, and LN often leads to end-stage renal disease in a short time.In recent years, various biological therapies for autoimmune diseases have provided new ideas for the treatment of SLE and refractory LN.Patients who are not sensitive to traditional schemes are well controlled after using biological agents. In this paper,we searched PubMed,EMBASE,Wan Fang,HowNet and other databases, and made further studies and reviews on the diagnosis and drug treatment of LN at home and abroad in recent 5 years, with a view to fully understand the progress in this area.
