Objective:To explore relationship between Apelin-13 and the onset, the severity of the diseaseand prognosis at 90 d of patients with acute cerebral infraction(ACI).Methods:162 patients with acute cerebral infraction(case group)and 107 healthy controls(control group)were selected as the research object from June 2016 to November 2016,and the level of serum Apelin-13 was detected.Clinical data was also collected. And the modified Rankin Scale score(m RS)was conducted at 90 d after theonse. Results:Proportion of male patents, smoking history, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease were significant higher than control group, and the level of serum Apelin-13 was significant lower than control group(p <0.05).Multiple logistic regression indicated that proportion of male patents, hypertension, coronary heart disease and the level of serum Apelin-13 was significantly associated with acute cerebral infraction(p<0.05).Patients with higher NIHSS(NIHSS> 5)had significantly lower Apelin-13 levels than those with lower NIHSS(NIHSS <5)(p <0.05).Compared with good outcome group,National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score on admission, infraction volume were significant higher and the level of serum Apelin-13 was significant lower(p<0.05).NIHSS score on admission and the level of serum Apelin-13 were significantly associated with 90 d outcome of acute cerebral infraction after multiple logistic regression(p<0.05).Conclusions:The level of serum Apelin-13 in patients with acute cerebral infraction was lower than control group, and was significantly associated with the onset, the severity of the disease and 90 d outcome of acute cerebral infraction.
