| Prostatic hyperplasia is a common disease in urology,which seriously affects the quality of life in old age.There are many theories about etiology,including aging,race,hormonal changes,inflammation,metabolic nutrition,increased sympathetic activity,and insulin resistance.In recent years we have found that inflammation may be a key cause of BPH development.Inflammation can play an important role in the pathogenesis of BPH through many different pathways(oxidative stress pathway,cytokine signaling pathway,hormone related pathway,etc.).From this perspective,we can find the target therapy of BPH based on the pathogenesis of the disease,In the future,this is likely to be the direction to treat BPH.This review aims to summarize the latest progress in the pathogenesis,etiology and related diagnosis and treatment of chronic inflammation in BPH,which provides an important basis for clinical treatment in the future. |
