| Object:Investigate the status of moxa smoke about clinical acupuncturists. To reveal the association between exposure to moxa smoke and eye discomfort, and to provide clues and references for further investigation of the causal link between moxa smoke exposure and the health status of acupuncturists. Methods:A simple random sampling method was used to select 120 acupuncturist medical staff who were exposed to smoke and smoke in the clinical environment.Epidemiological investigations were conducted using the self-made system for positive reactions of various organs exposed to moxa smoke, and the positive rate of each system symptom of acupuncturists was analyzed and compared.A cluster stratified sampling method was used to sample cross-sectional epidemiological survey questionnaires of 900 clinical acupuncturists in 60 TCM hospitals in Sichuan,Chongqing,Hunan,Anhui, and Shaanxi. The Chinese version of dry eye scale(DEQ-5)score was used to evaluate the dry eye symptoms of the surveyed subjects;the self-made moxa smoke exposure questionnaire was used to assess the exposure of the subjects to moxa smoke exposure;the self-made general situation questionnaire was used to understand the sociology of the respondents.Data was statistically analyzed by SPSS 21.0.Results:The positive rate of ocular and respiratory symptoms in acupuncturists who were in moxa smoke was 54.4%.The positive rate of ocular symptoms was higher:eye irritation(37.35%),tearing(36.14%),dry eye(33.73%).The unilabiate analysis showed that factors such as the number of years of acupuncture work, the frequency of moxibustion use,the area of the moxibustion consultation room, the gender, the use of mobile phones and other electronic products were affected scores of DEQ-5(P<0.05).However,there may be confounding effects among various factors.Through multiple linear regression analysis of the above factors,it was found that as the number of years of work increased, the scores of DEQ-5 decreased;with thecumulative exposure of AI every week, the scores of DEQ-5 increased;female the scores of DEQ-5 were higher than men,(P<0.05).Conclusions:Moxa smoke mainly affects the eyes system of the acupuncturists.Main eye discomfort symptoms are dry eyes, tearing, and eyes irritation. The number of years of work, the cumulative exposure to moxa smoke per week, and gender have affected the severity of dry eye symptoms. |
