Objective:Through the comparison of Betatrophin level between normal control group(NC group),Type 2 diabetes mellitus without carotid atherosclerosis group(T2DM without CAS group)and Type 2 diabetes mellitus with carotid atherosclerosis group(T2DM with CAS group),this thesis aims at analyzing the changes of Betatrophin level in T2 DM patients with CAS and its significance.Methods:This experiment collected 32 T2 DM patients who were diagnosed through oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)in Endocrinology Department,Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University.16 T2 DM patients with CAS(intima-media thickness ≥0.9mm)were selected into T2 DM with CAS group,the other 16 patients were T2 DM without CAS group.14 healthy people from the health examination of this hospital were chosen as NC group.Heights and weights were measured to calculate their body mass index(BMI).Moreover,the biochemical criterion data of blood glucose,body fat,HbA1 C,CRP,FCP and FINS were recorded through laboratory examination.Finally,the Betatrophin level in serum of different group were detected by using enzyme immunoassay(ELISA)exactly.Results:1.The comparison of general data and related biochemical criterion data between NC group and DM group.After compared the general data of NC group and DM group,we found that the levelof age,FPG,FINS,HbA1 C,TC,LDL-C and betatrophin had increased significantly,but the level of HDL-C had reduced significantly.The difference of gender,BMI,blood pressure,CRP,C-peptide,waistline and TG had no statistics significance.2.The comparison of general data and related indicators between NC group,T2 DM without CAS group and T2 DM with CAS group.Compared NC group and T2 DM without CAS group,the level of FPG,C-peptide,FINS,HbA1 C,LDL-C and betatrophin had increased significantly,the level of HDL-C had reduced significantly,while difference of BMI,gender,CRP,blood pressure,waistline,TC,age and TG had no statistics significance.Compared NC group and T2 DM with CAS group,the level of age,FPG,FINS,HbA1 C,LDL-C and betatrophin had increased significantly,the level of HDL-C had reduced significantly.The difference of blood pressure,gender,BMI,C-peptide,CRP,waistline,TC and TG had no statistics significance.3.The comparison of general data and related indicators between T2 DM without CAS group and T2 DM with CAS group.Compared with T2 DM without CAS group,the level of CP and betatrophin in the group of T2 DM with CAS had increased significantly;nevertheless,age,blood pressure,gender,BMI,waistline,TC,TG,FPG,FINS,HbA1 C,CRP,LDL-C,HDL-C had no statistics significance.4.The correlation analysis of betatrophin level other index.The level of betatrophin and age(r=0.594,P=0.025)and FPG(r=0.546,P=0.043)in NC group showed significant positive correlation.The level of betatrophin in T2 DM without CAS group had no correlation with other variables.The level of betatrophin were only significantly correlated with FPG(r=0.711,P=0.002)and CP(r=0.673,P=0.004)in T2 DM with CAS group.5.Analysis of risk factors in T2 DM with CAS group.Linear analysis of all single factors(CP,Betatrophin,age,blood pressure,gender,BMI,waistline,TC,TG,CRP,FPG,FINS,HbA1 C,LDL-C and HDL-C)(variable assignment:male=0,female=1).Exclude the single factors which had colinearity,then put theremaining Betatrophin,TG,HDL-C,HbA1 C,DBP and gender into regression equation.The dependant variable was whether CAS would happen or not.Logistic analysis of regression showed level of Betatrophin had statistical significance(P<0.05).Other single factors had no statistical significance(P > 0.05),which showed that the level of Betatrophin was the risk factor of CAS.Conclusion:The level of Betatrophin in T2 DM with CAS patients was significantly increased,and the level of Betatrophin was the risk factor to develop CAS for T2 DM patients,which showed that Betatrophin was possibly related to the combination T2 DM with CAS.What is more,Betatrophin might play a part in the germination and development of the combination T2 DM with CAS.
