Clinical Study Of Yizhi Formula On Patients With Mild To Moderate Vascular Dementia Which Is Deficiency Of Kidney Essence And Blood Stasis Syndrome

Objective: The mentor Yang Congxin is one of the first ten-famous and respectable doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Haozhou,Anhui province who has been reading various medical books and obtain the advantages from the authors since childhood.After graduating from the profession of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Fuyang Medical College,Yang made further study for more than ten years from the Kou Ruiting,one of the four-noted doctors of latter-day at Haozhou who mastered the Treatise on Cold Damage and had made great achievements in diagnosing or treating exogenous epidemic and internal miscellaneous diseases.During the Fifty years of medical practice,he gradually formed his own unique academic point of view,theory and methods of diagnosis and treatment by studying the great medical classics with the rich clinical-experience.To the respected-Yang’s point of view,the pathogenesis of dementia is “kidney-deficiency and blood-stasis,hindering and retention of phlegm”,the treatment of Yizhi Decoction with some changes on different TCM syndrome types of Vascular dementia can make notable curative effect.To discuss the etiology and pathogenesis of Vascular dementia and the clinical curative effect of Yizhi Decoction,to explore the advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating Traditional Chinese Medicine.Methods: 1,Collected related medical literature to investigate the objective of this research.2,To sum up the academic viewpoints of Yang’s academic viewpoint of treating the Vascular dementia and the method of therapeutic principles based on syndrome differentiation.3.Observed the clinical effect of Yizhi Decoction on patients with mild to moderate Vascular dementia.According to the observation criteria,60 patients were randomized into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=30).30 patients in treated group were treated with Yizhi Decoction while the others in the control group were gives donepezil.Both groups of the treatment course continues 3 months.Then the therapeutic effect was assessed by Mini-mental state examination(MMSE),Alzheimer disease assessment scale Cognitive(ADAS-cog),the activity of daily living scale(ADL),Blessed dementia scoring(BBS),TCM Symptom Score Scale(SDSVD)in patients with individual symptoms scores before and after changes in treatment.Clinical efficacy was accessed according to the MMSE and SDSVD score.All patients were performed the routine check of blood,urine and stool,liver function, kidney function before and after treatment to estimate the safety of the medicines.Results: There was a significant difference in treatment and the control group after treatment according to the MMSE and ADAS-cog score(P>0.05).After the treatment,the two groups has no significant difference in difference(P<0.05).After treatment,the score of ADL,Blessed had significant differences within the group and between groups,and the effect of treatment group was a litter better(P<0.05).After treatment,the SDSVD score had significant differences within the group and between groups,and the effect of treatment group was significantly better on SDSVD(P<0.05).In the clinical curative effect,the MMSE effective rate of the treatment group was 83.33%,and 86.67% of the control group,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The efficiency of SDSVD in the treatment group was followed by 86.67%,while that of the control group was 70.00%,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).After the treatment,there was no obvious abnormality of laboratory examinations and adverse reactions found on cases in the two groups.Conclusion: A single blind randomized controlled design method was used in this study,the 60 patients were divided into two groups,one is the treatment group with Chinese Medicine of Yoshi Decoction and the other is the control group with Western Medicine of donepezi chose as a kind of positive control drug,which has been proved to be effective in improving the cognitive function on patients with dementia from several clinical research results.Yizhi Decoction and donepezil can improve cognitive function of patients with mild to moderate Vascular Dementia.Yizhi Decoction was better than donepezil in improving non-cognitive function and SDSVD sore,especially for the patients with TCM syndrome types of deficiency of kidney-essence or blood stasis,such as weak waist brain transfer tinnitus,head wrapped as heavy as,purple tongue texture,static blood,obstructing sublingual collateral vessels and so on.There was no serious adverse reactions on patients with Yizhi Decoction happened in this study.besides,the Yizhi Decoction is well at clinical application with good reliability,it is fairly safe and easy to take in with grain-liked dosage form.
