Clinical Value Of The Inhibin B And Antral Follicle Count In Evaluating Ovarian Reserve

Objectives:To explore the ability to predict ovarian reserve function by INHB level,antral follicle count（AFC）,basal hormone level and female age.Methods:One hundred and seventeen women with different ovarian reserve were recruited in the study and divided into three groups as follow:43 with normal ovarian reserve,39 with decreased ovarian reserve and 35 with premature ovarian failure（POF）.Onthe day3of a spontaneous cycle,the basal hormone（FSH,LH,E₂,P,T,PRL）and INHB levels were measured,the diameter 3-10mm AFC number were determined by tansvaginal Doppler,and the correlation with INHB and AFC was analyzed.Results:The serum inhibinB level in normalgroupis（101.62±18.16pg/ml）,indecreasedovarianreservewomen is（85.91±18.71pg/ml）,in premature ovarian failure women is（15.80±3.97pg/ml）.The differenceswere statistically significant between 3groups（P<0.001）.AFC level in normal group is（8.76±1.97个）,in decreased ovarian reserve women is（3.70±1.59个）,in premature ovarian failure women is（0个）,the differenceswere statistically significant between3groups（P<0.001）.AFC and INHB levels were both positivelyassociatedwith E₂,T（P<0.001）,while both were negatively correlated with FSH,LH（P<0.001）;INHB was positively associated with AFC（P<0.001）.Conclusions:The decrease of serum inhibinB and AFC is a direct sign of decreased ovarian reserve.It is more sensitive and earlier than the increase of FSH,the decrease of E_2.Serum INHB level and AFC were correlated with ovarian reserve,showingthat the combination of INHB and AFC with basal hormone may be a better predictor to ovarian reserve.
