Effects Of Electroacupuncture At He-Mu Acupoints And Mu Acupoint Of Stomach On Rapid Gastric Emptying

Objective: To observe the effects of electroacupuncture at He-Mu acupoints and Mu acupoint of stomach on rapid gastric emptying,in order to substantiate whether the effect of He-Mu acupoints is better than that of single acupoint.Method: 65 cases observed were divided into two groups randomly,33 cases in He-Mu acupoints group,32 cases in single acupoint group,the He-Mu acupoints group to take electroacupuncture at Zusanli(ST36)and Zhongwan(CV12)acupoints,the single acupoint group to take electroacupuncture at Zhongwan(CV12)acupoint.Both groups were treated once daily for 30 minutes,5 times per week,a treatment course of 3 weeks.The scintigraphic gastric emptying test and the traditional Chinese medicine symptom scale of gastrointestinal diseases were performed before and after the treatment course.The gastric remainder rates at 30 minute and 60 minute and the scores were observed and compared.Result: After the treatment course,the gastric remainder rates at 30 minute and 60 minute in the two groups improved significantly(P<0.01).The improvement of gastric remainder rates at 30 minute in He-Mu acupoints group was significantly better than that in single acupoint group(P<0.01).The improvement of gastric remainder rates at 60 minute in He-Mu acupoints group was better than that in single acupoint group(P<0.05).The scores in the two groups decreased significantly(P<0.01).The improvement of scores in He-Mu acupoints group was significantly better than that in single acupoint group(P<0.01).The total effective rate was 93.55%(29/31)in He-Mu acupoints group and 77.42%(24/31)in single acupoint group.The effect of He-Mu acupoints group was better than that of single acupoint group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Electroacupuncture at He-Mu acupoints and Mu acupoint of stomach are both effective for rapid gastric emptying and the effect of He-Mu acupoints is better than that of single acupoint.
