| The rapid economic development has increased the quality of people’s lives while increasing the threat of chronic non-communicable diseases to people’s health. When monitoring the health status of human body, blood pressure can provide much information, such as pumping blood function of human heart, elasticity of aorta and aorta, etc. It is of great significance for the prevention and control of chronic non-infectious diseases. Therefore, how to use a convenient, quick and non-invasive method to measure accurate blood pressure parameters has become a critical issue in the medical field. This paper develops a unified BP estimation method with two integrated sub-procedures based on the Arterial Lumen Area(ALA)module. The first sub-procedure estimates the mean arterial pressure(MAP),the atrial compliance parameter ?c? and the lumen area parameter A0 and Am.During this period, the cuff is first inflated to the suprasystolic blood pressure(SSBP)at which the vessel underneath the cuff is complete occluded. Then the cuff pressure deflation is executed slowly until the cuff pressure is equal to a subdiastolic blood pressure.Firstly, the dynamic threshold algorithm(DTA)is used to find the mean arterial pressure MAP.Then, the vascular compliance parameter “c” was estimated using the ALA model?s diastolic index equation. Finally the lumen area parameters A0 and Am were determined using the ALA model with MAP and “c”.The second part is the dynamic continuous low-pressure sub-procedure.The variation range of the cuff pressure is from MAPDTA down to SDBP,which can be applied on our wrists sustainably due to the low cuff pressure. At least 5 consecutive tests can be performed for each individual. For each measured data, the pre-detection section obtained MAP,c,A0 and Am as known inputs, and the diastolic arterial lumen area ALA model was used to estimate systolic arterial pressure SBP and diastolic arterial pressure DBP.Therefore, the blood pressure detection method proposed in this paper is coefficient-free and can perform dynamic continuous blood pressure detection in a low pressure range. In order to verify the accuracy of the blood pressure measurement method proposed in this paper,60 healthy volunteers were invited, and each person was tested 3 times a day for 5 consecutive days.A total of 900 cuff pressure curve records were collected. The validated results are compared with that from a double stethoscope check. We observed 4.62 mm Hg and 5.73 mm Hg of mean absolute errors for estimating the systolic and diastolic pressure, respectively. The relationship between the vascular compliance parameter “c” and the mean arterial pressure MAP can be described by the linear relationship c=0.0002607134*MAP+0.0025922289,which has a good correlation with a squared correlation coefficient of 0.7. |
