The Minimal Invasive Posterior Transforminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion Versus Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion In The Treatment Of Single Level Lumbar Spine Degenerative Diseases

ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to compare the clinical curative effect and complications between minimal invasive posterior transforminal lumbar interbody fusion(minimal invasive posterior transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion,MIS-TLIF)and posterior lumbar interbody fusion(posterior lumbar interbody fusion,open PLIF)for single level lumbar spine degenerative diseases,and to evaluate the postoperative scores of visual analogue scores(VAS),Osestry disability index(ODI),intervertebral fusion in last follow-up and lumbar curvature between two groups.The purpose of our study was to provide relevant theoretical basis of single level lumbar spine degenerative diseases.MethodsTo analyze the clinical data of 52 cases of patients treated with single level lumbar spine degenerative diseases who admitted in our hospital from september 2012 to march 2017.There are 17 cases in MIS-TLIF,10 cases were male,7 cases were female,and 35 patients in PLIF group,17 cases were male,18 cases were female.The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,intraoperative drainage and postoperative hospital stay,complications were compared between two groups.And back pain VAS score,ODI,intervertebral fusion and lumbar curvature score were compared before surgery and during follow-up.ResultsThere were no significant differences between two groups in age,sex,smoking history,BMI and follow-up time(P>0.05).The operating time,intraoperative blood loss,intraoperative drainage,postoperative incision length and length of hospital stayin MIS-TLIF were significantly lower than the open group(P<0.05).There were difference between two groups regarding to VAS score after 3 months、6 months and at the end of the follow-up of postoperation(P < 0.05).the ODI dysfunction scores in MIS-TLIF group ware lower than that of open PLIF group after 3 months、6 months and the end of the follow-up of operation(P<0.05).ConclusionsCompared with PLIF group,MIS-TLIF has better clinical curative effect for treating single level lumbar spine degenerative diseases,and the VAS scores and ODI dysfunction score of MIS-TLIF group were lower than PLIF group as the follow-up time extended.
