Objective We explore the effect and clinical features of different surgical treatments for different types of intermittent exotropia in children, and analyze the improvement in binocular visual function after surgical aligment of patients with intermittent exotropia, compared with that before surgery. The purpose of this study is in order to treat the surgical treatment and visual function of patients with intermittent exotropia.Guided by the direction of training. Methods The study analyzed retrospectively 78 clinical datas of children with intermittent exotropia who underwent surgery in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2013.According to the results of preoperative prisms 5m and 33cm,they were divided into three groups:There were 33 cases of divergence excess intermittent exotropia,27 cases of basic intermittent exotropia, and 18 cases of insufficiency intermittent exotropia. Each group was given different surgical treatment. The divergence excess type were treated with binocular lateral rectus recession. The basic type and the insufficient collection type were treated with lateral rectus recession in the non-dominent eye or combined with madial rectus resection.the data of the strabismic angle was recorded 1 to 3 days and 3 months after the operation. At the same time, each patient underwent simultaneous perception, binocular fusion and stereoscopic at each functional examination, giving statistical analysis. Conclusion The total normotopic rate of all patients 1 to 3 days was 82.05%(62/78).The surgical normotopic rates of patients 1 to 3 days in group of 3 to 7 years old,8 to 12 years old,and 13 to 18 years old were 86.20%(25/29)and 75%(15/20),respectively.The normotopic rate of basic intermittent exotropia, divergence excess and insufficiency were 92.59(25/27),84.85%(28/33),and 72.22%(13/18)after surgery, respectively; There were statistically significant(P<0.05)in simultaneous perception, fusion and stereoscopic in different types of patients at 3 months after surgery. The difference between Titmus stereopsis was statistically significant(P<0.05).
