| OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in maintenance treatment of NSCLC compared with western medicine(WM)by analyzing the effects of TCM or chemotherapy maintenance on progression-free survival(PFS)and KPS score,and listlessness scale(listlessness scale)in patients with NSCLC in stage III-IV.METHODS: According to the exclusion criteria,patients who visited Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Traditional Chinese Medicine of Shanxi Province Hospital from October 2017 to March 2019 were collected and evaluated for PFS,KPS and Weakness Scale.General data of patients were analyzed by chi-square test and t-test.PFS data were analyzed by group t-test and Cox regression analysis.KPS score and weakness scale score before and after treatment were statistically described by paired t-test analysis.Results: 1.The PFS results of the treatment group and the control group were analyzed by t-test,P > 0.05,there was no difference in the curative effect between the two groups;Cox regression analysis,P > 0.05,can not be considered as an independent influencing factor of PFS;KPS scores of the treatment group and those of the control group were analyzed by t-test,P < 0.05,and the function of the patients receiving maintenance treatment of traditional Chinese medicine was better than that of the control group.The patients in the treatment group were better than those in the control group in terms of energy deficiency scale score(P < 0.05),and the TCM maintenance therapy was better in improving the symptoms of patients’ fatigue.CONCLUSION: Although Chinese medicine has not been able to obtain positive results in prolonging PFS in patients with non-small cell lung cancer in maintenance therapy,and Cox regression analysis shows that the treatment plan is not an independent influencing factor for PFS,it may have advantages in improving fatigue symptoms and functional status of patients. |
