Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Modified Ermiao Granules combined with interferon on eliminating HR-HPV persistent infection, verify its effectiveness on chronic cervicitis, and preliminarily explore the influence of Modified Ermiao Granules combined with interferon on vaginal microecologv,as well as the correlation of vaginal microecology with HR-HPV outcome. Methods:From January 2018 to August 2018,57 patients with chronic cervicitis and persistent HR-HPV infection that consulting in the Gynecology Clinic of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and conforming to the inclusion criteria of this study were enrolled. The patients were then randomly divided into combined medication group(Modified Ermiao Granules combined with interferon treatment,n=29)and interferon group(n=28).All patients were treated for 2 courses, with 3 months in a course of treatment;upon the end of treatment, the HR-HPV negative conversion ratio, cytological examination changes, traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome integral changes and clinical efficacy were compared between two groups.Besides, changes in the vaginal discharge cleanliness, hydrogen peroxide and leukocyte esterase were observed to evaluate the recovery of vaginal microecology.Results:1.HR-HPV negative conversion rate:The negative conversion ratio in the combined medication group was 68.97%(20/29),which was higher than that of 42.86%(12/28)in the interferon group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Cytological changes:The up-grading rate in the combined medication group was 3.45%(1/29),which was lower than that of 3.57%(1/28)in the interferon group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05);The down-grading rate in the combined medication group was 41.38%(12/29),which was higher than that of 32.14%(9/28)in the interferon group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).3.TCM syndrome scores:After treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were remarkably reduced, and the scores of the combined medication group were lower than those in the interferon group, and the difference was of marked statistical significance(P<0.01).4.Clinical efficacy:According to the changes of TCM syndromes, the clinical efficacy was determined. The total effective rate in the combined medication group was 93.10%(27/29),and the total effective rate in the interferon group was 71.43%(20/28).The clinical efficacy of the combined medication group was better than the interferon group(P<0.05).5.Vaginal microecological indicators:The abnormal detection rate of cleanliness,as well as the positive expression rates of hydrogen peroxide and leukocyte esterase in the two groups was markedly reduced after treatment, but there was no significant difference in the positive expression rate of hydrogen peroxide in the interferon group before and after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the abnormal detection rate of cleanliness, and the positive expression rates of hydrogen peroxide and leukocyte esterase in the combined medication group were lower than those in the interferon group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The cleanliness, hydrogen peroxide and leukocyte esterase were the correlation factors affecting the negative conversion of HR-HPV.The correlation coefficients were 0.316,0.500 and 0.516,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Modified Ermiao Granules combined with interferon can attain remarkable clinical effect on treating chronic cervicitis accompanying with HR-HPV persistent infection(syndrome of dampness-heat diffusing downward),which is superior to interferon alone in eliminating HR-HPV infection and improving the vaginal microecology and TCM syndromes in patients. It is thereby worthy of being promoted in clinic.2.The improvement in vaginal microecology can promote the negative conversion of HR-HPV.
