Object:To explore the clinical efficacy of replenishing Qi and elevating Yang(Zhierwei Decoction)to treat myasthenia gravis(MG)of spleen and kidney deficiency by the random, parallel, and control trial about spleen and kidney deficiency type patients with myasthenia gravis.Based on this, the treatment validity and safety are verified, which provides a sound basis for pervasive clinical applications. Methods:There were total of 60 patients with myasthenia gravis of spleen and kidney deficiency screened who were randomly divided into two groups:Treatment Group(n=30)and Control Group(n=30).Treatment Group was administered by replenishing Qi and elevating Yang(Jian erwei Decoction prescribed by mentor)with basic western medicines(Pyridostigmine Bromide Tablets + Prednisone Acetate Tablets). While Control Group was treated with basic western medicines. The treatment duration for each group was four weeks. The observation indexes were rated by the clinical absolute scores,Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score Scale(TCMSSS),and MG-Quality of Life(MG-QOL15)during trial in order to report adverse events separately and make the intra-group and between-group comparison for each group and each type before and after treatment.Thereby the validity of replenishing Qi and elevating Yang to treat MG of spleen and kidney deficiency was assessed. Results:There were total of 60 patients(Treatment Group with 30 patients and Control Group with 30 patients)included into the trial. The trial results were found as following:total effective rate for TCM effect in Treatment Group as 80.00%while 56.67%in Control Group;total effective rate for western medicine effect in Treatment Group as 86.67%while 66.67%in Control Group. There was statistic difference for the comprehensive effect of two groups after treatment(P<0.05).In addition, the between-group comparison result showed that there was no statistic difference for clinical absolute score comparison of patients(Type 1)after treatment in groups(P>0.05).While there was statistic difference for TCMSSS and MG-QOL15 comparison of patients(Type I)after treatment in groups(P<0.05),which demonstrated that the effect from integration of Chinese traditional and western medicine for patients was slightly better. For patients(Type IIA and IIB)in groups, there was statistic difference for clinical absolute score,TCMSSS,and MG-QOL15 comparison after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusions:The clinical symptoms for MG patients of spleen and kidney deficiency are effectively addressed by replenishing Qi and elevating Yang which has good safety and no obvious toxic or side effect.Meanwhile, the life quality of those patients is improved. Thus,it can be seen that there is better clinical effect of treating MG of spleen and kidney deficiency with replenishing Qi and elevating Yang(Jian erwei Decoction).
