Studies On Chemical Constituents And Bioactivities Of Macaranga Sampsonii Hance And Nelumbinis Plumula

The thesis is comprised of three chapters.The first chapter discusses the chemical constituents and biological activities of Macaranga sampsonii Hance.A total of thirty-six compounds were isolated and identified from the ethyl acetate fraction of the plant Macaranga sampsonii Hance by various separation and purification techniques,and 13 of these compounds were tested for biological activity.The second chapter discusses the chemical constituents and biological activities of Nelumbinis plumula(including the outer skin).Fifteen compounds were isolated and identified from lotus seeds by various separation and purification techniques,including 1 new compound.Chapter 1 Chemical constituents and biological activities of Macaranga sampsonii HanceMacaranga sampsonii Hance,belonging to the genus Macaranga of the Euphorbiaceae family,is widely distributed in Guangdong,southern and western Fujian,southwestern and central Guangxi.In this chapter,the stems and leaves of Macaranga sampsonii Hance collected from Luchun County,Honghe Prefecture,Yunnan Province were studied,and the chemical components of the 80%methanol/water extract were separated and identified.Thirty-six compounds were obtained,including 10 flavonoids,3 chalcones.1 chalcane,3 lignans,6 coumarins and 13 benezene derivedives.Thirteen compounds were screened for hDHODH?MTT and induced NO production inhibitory activity.Chapter 2 Study on the chemical constituents and biological activities of Nelu,mbinis plumula(including skin)Nelumbinis plumula is the radicle and dried young leaves of the mature seeds of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn,which are stripped from the lotus seeds.Nelumbinis plumula is a traditional herb with important medicinal value in China,which has been used in folk to treat insomnia,upset,thirst,nocturnal emission,hypertension and other symptoms.In this study,Nelumbinis plumula(including its outer skin)was collected from Jian'ou City,Fujian Province.Fifteen compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate and alkaloids fractions,including 3 alkaloids,1 triterpenoid.5 flavonoid glycosides,5 flavonoids and 1 aromatic compound.Compound 13 is a isoquinoline alkaloid.Bioassays were performed on compounds 4 and 7 for inhibitory activities against hDHODH and NO production.Chapter 3 Research Progress on the Chemical Composition and Biological Activity of Nelumbinis plu,mulaThis chapter systematically summarized the chemical constituents and biological activities of Nelumbinis plumula.The phytochemical studies showed that the major chemical constituents of Nelumbinis plumula were alkaloids such as liensinine,neferine,isoliensinine,nuciferin and pronuciferine,as well as flavonoids such as rutin,luteolin and hyperoside.Nelumbinis plumula possesses various bioactivities,including anti-oxidation,anti-tumor,anti-inflammation,and liverprotection.
