Purpose: Explore the application of 3D printing technology in the laparoscopic resection of adrenal pheochromocytoma. Methods: From January 2018 to December 2018,we used the CT data combined with 3D reconstruction and printing technology to produce a model of adrenal pheochromocytoma, and assisted in the planning of surgery for laparoscopic resection of adrenal pheochromocytoma(N=5),meanwhile 15 cases were treated with the same surgery but with the assistance of CT(N=15),then the quality and safety indicators and postoperative recovery indexes were analyzed.Afterwards,a study of 30 postgraduates and residents for surgery studying was performed, the 3D printing study group(N=15)studied and evaluated the surgery by 3D printed model, while the CT study group(N=15)using the CT images.A surgical learning rating system(SLR)was created to analyze the surgical learning value of this technique.Through the comparison of the above two parts, the application value of 3D printing technology in the laparoscopic adrenalectomy for pheochromocytoma is preliminary explored. Results: The operation time of the 5 patients in the 3D printing group was(129.0±56.6)minutes,the intraoperative blood loss was(119.0±69.9)ml,and the blood pressure fluctuation rate was 20%.The postoperative intestinal recovery time was(1.3 ± 0.5)days,and the postoperative hospital stay was(3.4 ± 0.5)days.In the laparoscopic group, the operation time was(154.7±67.0)minutes in the 15 patients, the intraoperative blood loss was(144.7±133.0)ml,and the blood pressure fluctuation rate was 26.7%.The postoperative intestinal recovery time was(1.3±0.4)days,and the postoperative hospital stay was(3.7±0.9)days.No patient needs to go to the ICU for further treatment in the two groups, and the overall recovery was good. The total score of SLR in the 3D printing learning group was(72.9±4.2)points,and the total score of SLR in the CT learning group was(61.1±4.1)points(P<0.05).The main difference between the two groups was reflected in the understanding of the anatomical structure of adrenal pheochromocytoma lesions(SLR-a)among them,in which the SLR-a score of the 3D printing learning group was(39.9±2.4)points.The SLR-a score of the CT learning group was(32.1±3.2)points(P<0.05).Conclusion: 3D printing technology can better assist preoperative evaluation and planning of laparoscopic adrenal pheochromocytoma resection. It may help to improve the safety of the surgery, and better the training effect of low-grade physicians.
