A Study On Mentaland Psychological Characteristics Of College Students With Dyspepsia In Nanning

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of dyspepsia and the relationship between dyspepsia,psychological and social factors among the college students in Nanning city,and to improve the prevention and treatment of dyspepsia in this region.Method: Rome Ⅲ diagnosis questionnaire for adult dyspepsia,Chinese College Student Mental Health Scale(CCSMHS),Chinese College Student Psychological Stress Scale(CCSPSS),Chinese College Student Adaptation Scale(CCSAS)and Chinese College Student Personality Scale(CCSPS)were performed through interview survey in 2580 Nanning college students,and compare the results with the national norm.T-test and Chi-square test were used to compare diffenences between groups.Results: A total of 2520 qualified Rome Ⅲ questionnaires were revovered.The prevalence of dyspepsia in Nanning college students was 5.36%.The prevalence of female is higher than male(5.91% /3.84%).Among the twelve dimensions of psychological health,the scores of anxiety,depression,somatization,low self-esteem,paranoia,force,sexual psychology,dependency,impulsion and psychotic tendencies were significantly higher in dyspepsia thanthe national norm(P < 0.05).Among the nine dimensions of psychological stress,the scores of learning,life,social contact,develop,family,life events,life trivia and the negative life events were significantly higher in dyspepsia than the national norm(all P < 0.05).Among the seven dimensions of adaptation,interpersonal relationships,learning,campus life,career choice,emotion,ego and satisfaction were significantly lower in dyspepsia than the national norm(all P<0.05).In our study,the seven personality(active,outgoing personality,tenacity,rigorous,altruism,affectionate,easy-going)compared to the national norm had statistical difference(all P<0.05).Conclusion: Dyspepsia is a common symptom in Nanning college students.Students with dyspepsia have different degrees of psychological problems which are mostly anxiety and depression.College students with dyspepsia have more difficulties to deal with stress and their adaptability is poorer.College students with dyspepsia have their own characteristics in terms of personality.
