| Objective:In the process of operation,the linear accelerator equipment in the hospital will produce the gamma ray and neutron flow with strong penetrating ability.Effective shielding measures should be taken to avoid the possible occupational hazards.Hospitals often fail to reserve or consider enough space for the machine room in the building of medical electron linear accelerator.Methods:This research is to study the optimization of radiation protection in the hospital for the 10 MV linear accelerator room,and adopt the radiation protection prediction model in the protocol of "radiotherapy rooms of radiation shielding specification part 2:electron linear accelerator radiation therapy room"(GBZ/T 201.2-2011).This mainly discusses the source terms of the medical electron linear accelerator radiation,shielding wall theoretical calculation,and the room on-site validation analysis,according to the principle of optimum selection of linear accelerator room for detailed analysis.In addition,this paper discusses and analyzes the interesting relations of two different shielding materials from three aspects of space size,protection cost and equipment update.Results:(1)The machine room built with barite concrete is much thinner than ordinary concrete in terms of thickness,and it requires less space and can save certain size,area and space.(2)From the perspective of space size,protection cost and equipment update,the linear accelerator room is constructed with barite concrete(ρ=3.25g/cm3),which does not conform to the principle of "protection and safety optimization" of "radiation protection requirements".(3)In three design schemes,the south wall and the eastern exterior wall can use the two parts of ordinary concrete(ρ=2.35 g/cm3),the remaining wall on barite concrete(ρ=3.25 g/cm3).Comparing to the present construction schemes,our scheme is more optimized.Conclusions:To select barite concrete or ordinary concrete for the construction of machine room,the hospital needs to consider comprehensively according to economic conditions,spatial structure and equipment update,and at the same time choose the design scheme according to local land price. |
