The resource scheduling of the operating room is an important part of hospital medical service management and is mainly focused on the scheduling of elective surgery.However,there are dynamic uncertainties in the actual operation of hospital operating rooms,such as the insertion of sudden emergency surgeries,temporary adjustment of medical staff,sudden breakdown of surgical facilities,and unexpected cases during surgical operations.Such dynamic operating room environment makes the original scheduling not efficient any more.Hence,the operating room needs to establish a flexible,adaptive,and intelligent online scheduling system to achieve a rapid response to the dynamic environment.This paper studies the surgical process in the conventional situation of the hospital.The relevant resources involved in the operation room scheduling are identified,based on the analysis of surgical process.Considering the feature of autonomy and interaction in those resources,multiagent technology is introduced to the operation room scheduling system.The status behavior of each resource agent and the interaction among those agents are analyzed,an online multi-agent operating system model are built,based on the ontology mechanism.In view of the typical dynamic uncertainties in the actual operation of the operating room,the ant colony intelligence algorithm is introduced to describe the adaptive behavior,and the common time windows of the various resources are coordinated,and the detailed behavior of various resource entities are designed.Finally,an operating room scheduling simulation system was built based on the JADE platform to verify the feasibility of the online system.Focusing on several typical types of emergent situations,the two scheduling strategies of dynamic scheduling and traditional scheduling using first in first out rule are compared.The simulation results show that both scheduling strategies can achieve online resource allocation and scheduling,but the dynamic strategy are superior in several indicators,including shorter total operation time,less overtime in resources,higher utilization of resource time,more balanced utilization of similar resources,and shorter waiting time for patients,which also helps to achieve priority scheduling of emergency patients.The multi-agent technology is introduced into the on-line dispatching of the operating room of a hospital,the establishment of multi-discipline operating room online scheduling system can achieve rapid response to the dynamic problems in the actual operation of the operating room,coordinate and rationally schedule surgery and related resources.Such online scheduling also improves the current operating room scheduling methods.
