Objective: To report a case of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue extranodal marginal zone lymphoma involving the parapharyngeal space and the ventricular band.We described the clinical manifestations, imaging data, pathology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatments of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma originating from the larynx.Design: A case report and literature review. Methods: Searching Wanfangdata,CNKI,pubMed,and SCI database to conduct a literature review. Results: In this report,a 40-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital due to hoarseness.Electronic laryngoscopy in Wuhan Tongji hospital showed left ventricular band and laryngeal ventricular eminence, covering the left vocal cord with smooth surface. The MRI enhancement report of Tongji hospital in Wuhan showed that left arytenoid epiglottic folds and double ventricular bands were thickened and strengthened, accompanied by laryngeal ventricular stenosis, and the possibility of neoplastic lesions was considered. After surgical resection of the lesion, combined with clinical manifestations, imaging and pathological examination, the patient was finally diagnosed as lymphoma of the left laryngeal mucosa related lymphoid tissue in the peripheral region of the node.Further diagnosis and treatment were made in the hematology department after the operation, and relevant specialized examinations were performed. No chemoradiotherapy was performed, and no recurrence was observed in the follow-up of more than 1 year.Wanfang, cnki, pubMed and SCI databases were used to search the Chinese and English case literatures of lymphoma in the peripheral lymphoma of the mucosa of the larynx, which were published before March 12,2019.So far,two Chinese literatures with complete cases have been retrieved,19 English ones and a total of 21 ones. Conclusion: Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue extranodal marginal lymphoma can affect multiple organ systems throughout the body, including the stomach, eyes, lungs, thyroid, skin, breast and so on,which also can cause laryngeal involvement. But the case originating from the larynx is rare. When MALT lymphoma is involved in the larynx, the upper glottic region is the most common place involved;Hoarseness, difficulty in pronunciation, difficulty in breathing, lack of specific performance are the common clinical manifestations; The diagnosis was based on histopathology and immunophenotype, supplemented by genetic analysis, and assisted by imaging to clarify the common diagnosis of lesion site.It needs to be differentiated from chronic inflammation, laryngeal cancer, pseudolymphoma, small lymphocytic lymphoma, diffuse large b-cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma,intra-and perisplenic lymphoma, and mantle cell lymphoma. In terms of treatment, early laryngeal MALT lymphoma can be diagnosed by simple biopsy or partial resection, followed by radiotherapy. In the case of difficult sampling and qualitative analysis, and surgery having little effect on laryngeal function,if the lesion is completely removed by surgery, the patient can be observed and treated.
