Comparision Of The Therapeutic Effects Of Safflower Yellow Pigment With Ginkgo Biloba Extract On Patients With Sudden Deafness And The Preliminary Underlying Mechanisms

Objective: Safflower yellow pigment has regulation effects on blood lipids,the dilation of blood vessels,thrombus formation,and inflammatory response.However,it has rarely been reported whether it has effect on patients with sudden deafness.In this study,we selected patients with sudden deafness as the research object,and observed the effects of regular therapy combined with safflower yellow pigment on sudden deafness with that of regular therapy combined with classic medicine(Ginkgo biloba extract.trade name: Jinnadou)as control,then compared the changes of blood lipid levels,blood rheology and the ratio between neutrophil and lymphocyte(NLR)in both groups were compared,explore the active mechanism of safflower yellow pigment in the treatment of sudden deafness.Methods: A total of 150 patients with sudden deafness admitted to Cangzhou People’s Hospital,Hebei Province from May 2016 to April 2017 were enrolled.After patients signed informed consent voluntarily,the patients were randomly divided into two groups,(the test group and the control group),75 cases in each group.According to the type of audiogram,the two groups of patients were further divided into three groups: low frequency falling type,high frequency falling type and full frequency falling type.On the basis of conventional hormone therapy,neuro-nutrition therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy,in the control group,Ginkgo biloba extract(87.5 mg added to 250 mL of 5% glucose injection)for intravenous drip.And the test group was treated with safflower yellow pigment(150 mg added to 250 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride injection)for intravenous drip to improve blood microcirculation.Hearing test and hemorheology(full blood viscosity: high cut 30(1/s),medium cut 5(1/s),low cut 1(1/s))before and 10 days after treatment were measured in the two groups respectively.Blood lipids(triglycerides,high-density lipoprotein,and low-density lipoprotein)and the changes of the ratio between neutrophil and lymphocyte(NLR)in the two groups were compared.Results: For the treatment of sudden deafness,the total effective rate was 92.00% in the test group while it was 93.33% in the control group.There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The therapeutic effects were no significant differences in patients with sudden deafness of high frequency falling type and low frequency falling type between the two groups,while the effect in patients with sudden deafness of full frequency falling type in test group was lower than that in control group.The effects on HDL-C and ratio of neutrophil and lymphocyte in test group were better than those in control group(P<0.05),while the effect on LDL-C in test group were less than that in control group(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in TG level between the two groups.Conclusion: Safflower yellow pigment has the similar therapeutic effects with Ginkgo biloba extract on patients with sudden deafness,which may be caused by modulating the blood lipids levels,reducing blood rheology and inflammation response.
