Objective:To investigate single nueleotide polymorphism(SNP)of C-reactive protein(CRP)-1059 G/C,interleukin-18 promoter(IL-18)-607C/A and-137G/C on the patients with acute brain Infarction and normal controls in Li and Han population in Hainan nationality and to study the correlation between gene polymorphisms of these three locus and patients with acute cerebral infarction in Li and Han population in Hainan nationality.Methods:A case-control study was conducted in 115 patients in Han and 52 patients in Li with acute cerebral infarction and 116 cases in Han and 51 cases in Li of healthy controls.Polymerase chain reaction(PCR)re-sequencing were used to detect the gene polymorphisms of CRP-1059 G/C,IL-18-607C/A and-137G/C.Results:The allele frequency of CRP-1059 G/C was significantly different between patient group and control group in Han population in Hainan nationality(?2=4.056,P=0.044),the difference of genotype frequencies of GG+GC genotypes and CC genotype were significant between the patient group and control group in Han population in Hainan nationality(?2=3.848,P=0.0497).The frequency of GG+GC genotype in the patient group was higher than that of the control group in Han population in Hainan nationality,the frequency of CC genotype was lower than that of the control group in Han population in Hainan nationality,and the difference was statistically significant.Both genotype frequency and allele frequency of neither IL-18-607 C/A nor IL-18-137 G/C were not significantly different between patient group and control group in Han population in Hainan nationality.The genotype frequencies and allele frequencies of the CRP-1059 G/C,IL-18-607C/A,and IL-18-137G/C were not significantly different between the patient group and the control group in Li population in Hainan nationality.The independent risk factors for cerebral infarction in Hainan Han population were history of hypertension,diabetes,smoking history and CRP-1059 GG+GC type.The independent risk factors for cerebral infarction in Li nationality population in Hainan Province are history of hypertension and hyperlipidemia.Conclusions:1.The gene polymorphism of CRP-1059 G/C was significantly associated with cerebral infarction in Han population in Hainan nationality.The C allele in the patient group was significantly less than that in the control group.The CRP-1059 CC genotype has a protective effect on the patients with cerebral infarction in Han population in Hainan nationality.There is no correlation between CRP-1059 G/C gene polymorphism and the patients with cerebral infarction in Li population in Hainan nationality.2.The IL-18-607C/A and IL-18-137G/C gene polymorphisms were not significantly related to cerebral infarction in Han and Li population in Hainan nationality.3.The CRP-1059 GG+GC genotype is an independent risk factor for cerebral infarction in Han population in Hainan nationality.
