| Objective The relationship between the serum salusins and early diabetic nephropathy and its underlying mechanisms have not been elucidated. The aim of this study was to explore the association between the levels of the serum salusin-α and salusin-β in patients with early type 2 diabetic nephropathy. Methods From January 2017 to June 2018,57 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)were collected and divided into T2 DM group(n = 29)and early diabetic nephropathy group(T2DN)(n = 28),29 age and sex matched healthy subjects served as controls. All patients are from Gansu Provincia Hospital. The serum levels of lipids, glycosylated hemoglobin A1(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose(FBG),fasting insulin(FINS),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6),salusin-α,salusin-β,lipopolysaccharide(LPS),and urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER)were measured. Results The levels of serum salusin-β,IL-6,LPS and hs-CRP in the early T2 DN group were significantly higher than that in the T2 DM group(P<0.05,respectively)and the control group(both P<0.05).And the levels of serum salusin-β,IL-6,and LPS T2 DM group were significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05,respectively).Serum salusin-αlevels were not statistically different between the early T2 DN and T2 DM group(P=0.188).Correlation analysis showed that serum salusin-β was positively correlated with hs-CRP,IL-6,LPS,HbA1 c,FBG,Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),T2 DM duration, and UAER(r=0.599,0.290,0.399,0.573,0.424,0.235,0.302,P<0.05,respectively)Multiple linear regression results suggested that serum salusin-β was an independent factor for early T2 DN,logistic regression analysis showed that serum salusin-β was a risk factor for early T2DN(OR=3.817,95% CI:1.217-11.976,P<0.05).Conculsion : Serum salusin-β levels are significantly elevated in patients with early T2 DN and are independent factors for early T2 DN,and its mechanism may be related to its mediated inflammatory response. |
