Objective: To systematically evaluate the clinical effect of gegen decoction and its addition and subtraction on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods: Computer retrieval database both at home and abroad, and Chinese databases include:CNKI;WANFANG DATA;VIP and foreign language database :Web of Science;Cochrane Library;Pubmed, the retrieval time for the big Library database built on December 31,2019 inclusion criteria:(1)the research type for clinical randomized controlled trials, language is limited to Chinese and English;(2)the subjects should be diagnosed as cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, and the diagnostic criteria should be clarified or based on the commonly used diagnostic criteria in China;(3)the observation group of intervention measures should include pueraria decoction and its addition and subtracting treatment, while the control group should include other conventional treatment methods except pueraria decoction and its addition and subtracting treatment. The treatment duration of the two groups is not limited, but the course of treatment should be completely consistent.(4)the outcome index is the total clinical effective rate;(5)the total sample size of the included literature shall not be less than30 cases. The literature meeting the inclusion criteria shall be evaluated according to the risk of bias table of clinical randomized controlled trials in Review Manager, and then the RevMan5.3 software shall be used for meta-analysis.Results: There were 23 literatures that best met the requirements of inclusion criteria, and the results of meta-analysis of 1988 subjects showed that the efficacy of the observation group including gegen decoction and its addition and subtraction in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy was better than that of the control group. Conclusion: Gegen decoction and its addition and subtration are safe and effective in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. However,as most of the 23 included literatures are of low quality, and there is a certain degree of publication bias, which affects the objectivity of the results,a multicentric,large-sample,high-quality clinical randomized controlled trial is still needed for further verification.
