Objective: To observe the feasibility and safety of dexmedetomidine in pediatric patients undergoing tonsillectomy with adenoidectomy, and to evaluate its clinical effect on emergence agitation in recovery period. Methods: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,60 children who were to undergo tonsillectomy under general anesthesia were selected. The ASA classification of anesthesia was grade I to II.The children were randomly divided into two groups, namely control group(Group C)and dexmedetomidine group(Group DEX).Using the same anesthetic induction, the control group was always infused with normal saline at a constant speed of 5ml / h,while the right metoclopramide group was given a load of 1.0ug/kg,which was completed within 10 minutes, and then continued infusion at a speed of 0.5ug/kg/h.Record HR,MAP before induction(T1),before DEX(T2),after 10 minutes(T3),20 minutes(T4),30 minutes(T5),and after surgery(T6).Record the operation time, anesthesia time,PAED score and FLACC pain score. Results: 1.There was no significant difference in the age and weight of the children(P> 0.05).2.There was no significant difference in HR,MAP among the children(P> 0.05).3.There was no significant difference in recovery time, extubation time and observation time between the two groups(P> 0.05).4.There was no significant difference in FLACC scores between the two groups(P> 0.05);the PAED score of DEX group was lower than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: The application of Dex in pediatric patients undergoing tonsillectomy with adenoidectomy can effectively improve the restlessness score ofchildren in the recovery period of general anesthesia without prolonging the recovery time of anesthesia.
