[Objective]In order to understand the effect of comprehensive intervention on the prognosis of children with constipation,the clinical data of 70 children with constipation in the outpatient department of pediatrics in our hospital were collected and treated by comprehensive intervention,followed by follow-up on their physical growth,intelligence and quality of life.[Methods]A total of 70 children with constipation in the outpatient department of pediatrics of our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were selected as the study subjects.By telephone follow-up questionnaire way,the followed-up general information and clinical data including information of the growth,development,quality of life and comprehensive intervention treatment including feeding guidance,probiotic supplements,combined use of lactulose and polyethylene glycol laxative were collected in 70 children with constipation.The intelligence tests were screened for children under parents'agreement during appointment period,in department of prevention and children health care.And finally,the follow-up information was classifying.The percentile method,mean deviation method,four grade evaluation method and relevant statistical methods were used to evaluate physical growth,the effect after the intervention,and to process and analyze the follow-up data.[Results]1.Among 70 children with constipation,38 were males and 32 were females.The follow-up age ranged from 6 months to 7 years old,32(50 percent)were infants,28(38.24 percent)were infants,and 10(11.76 percent)were preschool children.34 of 70 children with constipation were successfully followed up from 8 m to 6 years old,including 18 males(52.9%)and 16 females(47.1%),most of whom lived in cities(91.2%).The children with picky eating habits were 76.5%,the children without defecation training were 55.9%,and parents with constipation were 11.8%.Among 34 children,17(50.00%)were given mixed feeding,16(47.06%)were given exclusive breastfeeding,and 1(2.94%)was given artificial feeding.Factors associated with constipation included 6 cases(17.65%)associated with the addition of formula milk,5 cases(14.71%)associated with the addition of supplementary food,4 cases(11.76%)associated with attending kindergarten,1 case(2.94%)associated with the use of antibiotics,and 18 cases(52.94%)associated with no significant correlated factors.2.By percentile method weight and height were no difference compared with normal children.With average deviation method and the evaluation of diagnostic criteria of malnutrition,28 of 30 children were without infantile malnutrition,2 children were with malnutrition including one child with low weight and one child with slow growth.3.Among the 34 children with constipation,12 children voluntarily participated in intelligence test,their intelligence test results are in the normal range.4.Follow-up of life quality status showed that among the 34 children with constipation showed that 65%were affected by sleep quality,50%were affected by irritability,21%were affected by poor appetite,56%were affected by abdominal pain and abdominal distension,24%were affected by increased anal exhaust,and 30%were affected by peculiar smell from breathing and mouth.5.Among the 34 children,17(50.00%)were cured,7(20.59%)were effective,8(23.53%)were valid,and 2(5.88%)were ineffective.[Conclusion]1.Children with constipation can occurs in both boys and girls and is prone to occur in infancy and early childhood.2.The cause of most children with constipation is unknown,and its occurrence mav be related to bad diet and eating,defecation habits and genetic factors.The incidence of urban children with constipation is higher than that of rural children.3.The effect of short-term constipation on physical growth and intelligence of children is no obvious.4.Constipation has obvious influence on children's quality of life,including sleep quality,mood,clinical manifestations of poor appetite,abdominal pain,abdominal distension,increased anal exhaust and halitosis.5.Early diagnosis,timely and reasonable comprehensive intervention can effectively improve the prognosis of children with constipation.
