Objective : To explore the clinical effect of PKP in the treatment of osteoporotic compression fracture(OVCF)of thoracolumbar spine.Methods : Unilateral puncture PKP was used to treat 62 patients with single-segment thoracolumbar OVCF.Include 9 males and 53 females,aged 55 to 90 years,average 72 years.Follow up time 1-4 years,and 25.3 months on average.According to the horizontal distribution of bone cement in fracture vertebrae after operation,the patients were divided into unilateral distribution group and bilateral distribution group.Record and analyze the amount of bone cement and leakage of bone cement in the two groups,the changes of visual analogue scale(VAS),Oswestry disability index(ODI)before operation,3 days,1 month,3 months and the last follow-up after operation,the recovery rate of anterior,central height of vertebral body and Cobb's angle after operation,and the situation of other vertebrae re-fracture after operation at the last follow-up.Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups in the amount and leakage of bone cement(P > 0.05).At 3 days,1 month,3 months and the last follow-up,VAS and ODI of the two groups were significantly improved,but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05).The height of vertebral body and Cobb's in the two groups were corrected after operation,and the anterior,central height of fracture vertebral body and Cobb's angle recovery rate between the two groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups about other vertebrae re-fracture after operation(P > 0.05).Conclusion:When PKP was used to treat OVCF of thoracolumbar vertebrae,bone cement unilateral distribution or bilateral distribution in vertebral body could effectively relieve pain and improve quality of life.Bilateral distribution can better restore the height of vertebral body,correct kyphosis,and will not increase the leakage probability of bone cement.The unilateral distribution of bone cement in vertebral body will not increase the risk of other vertebrae re-fracture after operation.
