| Objective: Based on the “Spleen and Stomach Rising and Falling theory” of Li Dongyuan, this thesis evaluated the effect of “Experienced ten acupoints” combined with Du meridian pressing moxibustion on patients with sleep disorder of yang deficiency syndrome,so as to expand the clinical application of “Experienced ten acupoints” and explore an effective treatment method for insomnia patients of yang deficiency syndrome.Methods:100 eligible patients(10 expulsion)were recruited and randomly divided into three groups,“Experienced ten acupoints” acupuncture combined with Du meridian-pressing moxibustion group(group A),traditional acupuncture group(group B)and medication group(group C),with 30 cases in each group. All patients received treatment every other day,3 times per week, for 4 weeks in total. The TCM symptom and sign scale,PSQI,HAMA and HAMD were completed by all the patients before and after the treatment,as well as during the follow-up period(for 4 weeks). Results: 1.Before the treatment, there were no significant differences among three groups in age distribution, gender composition,TCM symptom and sign scores,HAMA and HAMD scores(P>0.05),suggesting that they were comparable.2.The overall treatment efficacy comparison: After the treatment, the total effective rate of group A,group B and group C were 86.7%,80% and 83.3%,seperately.The difference between group A and group B was statistically significant(P<0.05),while there was no statistically significant difference between group A and group B(P>0.05),nor between group B and group C(P>0.05).During the follow-up period, the differences between group A and group B,group A and group C were statistically significant(P<0.05).3.PSQI score results: There were statistically significant differences for all the patients in 3 groups before and after the treatment(P<0.01).After the treatment, there were no significant statistical differences among the 3 groups(P>0.05).During the follow-up period, there was statistically significant difference between group A and group C(P<0.01).4.TCM symptom and sign score results: There were statistically significant differences for all the patients in 3 groups before and after the treatment(P<0.01).During the follow-up period, there were statistically significant differences of group A and group B(P<0.01),while the difference of group C was not statistically significant(P>0.05).5.HAMA and HAMD score results: There were statistically significant differences for all the patients in 3 groups before and after the treatment(P<0.01).During the follow-up period, there were statistically significant differences of group A in both HAMA and HAMD score results(P<0.01);the differences of group B were both statistically significant in HAMD score result(P<0.01)and HAMA score result(P<0.05);group C got no significant statistical difference neither in HAMD score results(P>0.05)nor in HAMA score results(P>0.05).6.Safety and tolerance assessment: No adverse reactions occurred in the three groups.Three interventions were all of safety and tolerability in this research. Conclusions: 1.The clinical trials shows that the three groups effectively relived the symptoms for insomnia patients of yang deficiency syndrome.Group A got higher clinical effective rate than group B after the treatment,as well as a better long-lasting efficacy in the follow-up period compared with group B and group C.2.Comparing the TCM symptoms and signs,PSQI score results,HAMA and HAMD score results, group A and group B showed better improvements in TCM symptoms and signs, and group A effectively improved depressive symptoms of insomnia patients compared with patients in group B and group C.3.Based on the “spleen and stomach rising and falling theory”,“experienced ten acupoints” combined with Du meridian-pressing moxibustion can significantly improve the sleeping quality, insomnia symptoms, depressive and anxious symptoms of insomnia patients,as well as having a Long-lasting efficacy compared with traditional acupuncture and medication. |
