Objective CT 3d reconstruction technique was used to measure the width of dental arch and basal bone forms of Mongolian and Han nationality, compare the differences, and study the correlation between dental arch and basal bone arch width,so as to provide some reference for Mongolian personalized orthodontic treatment. Methods According to the inclusion criteria,40 Mongolian students(20 females,20.62 ± 1.51 years old;20 males,22.34± 1.83 years old)and 40 Han students(20 females,19.22 ± 1.84 years old;20 males,21.54 ±1.56 years old)were selected from the Hohhot University Town. All the subjects underwent CBCT scan in our hospital under the same conditions within a certain period of time, and informed the purpose and content of the experiment before the scanning, and signed the informed consent.Using invivo 5 software to reconstruct the three-dimensional data of CBCT,mark and measure the mark points of dental arch and base bone arch, obtain the three-dimensional data of the mark points, and import the data into Java The pre-set software written on Eclipse platform is used to process, calculate and cast the mark points on the working plane,so as to calculate the horizontal distance between the mark points of canine and first molar arch and base bone arch on the working plane. The measurement items included(1)FW3U: distance between Fa points of maxillary fangs on both sides;(2)FW3L:distance between Fa points of mandibular fangs on both sides;(3)FW6U: distance between the Fa points of the first molar on both sides of the upper jaw;(4)FW6L: distance between the Fa points of the first molar on both sides of the lower jaw;(5)AW3U: distance between basal bone marks of maxillary fangs on both sides;(6)AW3L: distance between basal bone marks of mandibular fangs on both sides;(7)AW6U: distance between basal bone marks ofthe first molar on both sides of the upper jaw;(8)AW6L: distance between basal bone marks of the first molar on both sides of the lower jaw.The experimental data were analyzed using SPSS software to compare the difference between the width of dental arch and basal bone arch between Mongolian and Han nationalities, and Pearson correlation analysis was conducted on the correlation between dental arch and bone arch width in canine and molar regions.Results(1)The width of dental arch and basal bone in the canine region and molar region of Mongolian males was greater than that of Han females, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);(2)In the canine region, the width of the maxillary and mandibular arch and the mandibular basal bone of Mongolian women was smaller than that of Han women, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);the width of the mandibular basal bone was not statistically significant(P > 0.05);(3)In the molar region, the width of the maxillary and mandibular arch and the mandibular basal bone of Mongolian women was not significantly different from that in Han women(P > 0.05);the width of mandibular basal bone was greater than that in Han women, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).;(4)There was a strong correlation between the width of the dental arch and the basal bone in the canine and molar regions in both ethnic groups. Conclusion The width of dental arch and basal bone is different between Mongolian and Han nationalities, and this difference also has gender characteristics, and there is a highly matched relationship between dental arch and basal bone width, and its morphology has correlation, which can guide the clinical planning of personalized orthodontic diagnosis and treatment between Mongolian and Han nationalities and different genders.
