Objective To evaluate the curative effect of contralateral acupuncture on cervicalderived headache from three aspects: headache relief, concomitant symptom improvement and cervical spine mobility improvement, and provide a new method for clinical treatment of cervical-derived headache. Methods In this study,66 patients with cervical headache were collected and divided into two groups by simple random control grouping,33 in each group. There were 3 cases drppped in the treatment group,2 cases dropped and 1 case eliminated in the control group and 30 effective cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with contralateral acupuncture and the control group with rountine acupuncture. The treatment cycle was 2 courses(1 month). The visual analogue scale, headache frequency, headache duration, cervical spine activity score, and accompanying symptom score were used to evaluate the efficacy of the two groups of patients. Results 1.Comparison of the total efficacy of the two groups: the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33%,the total effective rate of the control group was 70%,and the effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group.2.Comparison of headache improvement: compared within the group, the vas value, headache frequency and headache duration of the two groups decreased before treatment, after one course of treatment and after treatment. The vas value was higher after one month follow-up than after treatment(P<0.01),indicating that the two methods improved the headache degree, headache frequency and headache duration of the patients. At the end of one course of treatment, after treatment and one month follow-up,the vas value of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05),indicating that the short-term and long-term curative effect of contralateral acupuncture on improving the degree of headache was better. The frequency and duration of headache in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05)after treatment and one month follow-up.At the end of one course, the frequency and duration of headache in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group(P>0.05),indicating that the short-term and long-term effects of contralateral acupuncture on reducing headache frequency and shortening headache time were better.3.The score of concomitant symptoms was lower before treatment,at the end of one course and after treatment in the group. The score of concomitant symptoms was higher after one month follow-up(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant, indicating that both methods could improve the patients’ concomitant symptoms.Compared with the control group,at the end of one course of treatment, after treatment and one month of follow-up(P<0.05),the score of concomitant symptoms in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group at each time point, indicating that the two methods can improve the concomitant symptoms, but the effect of contralateral acupuncture method on the concomitant symptoms of cervical headache was better, and the long-term effect was better.4.Comparison of cervical vertebra activity: at the end of one course of treatment in the treatment group,ROM score showed a decreasing trend after treatment. At the follow-up of one month, the score was higher than that after treatment(P<0.05).At the end of one course of treatment in the control group, the score was higher than that after treatment(P>0.05).At the end of one course of treatment, the score was lower than that before treatment and that after treatment(P<0.05),The results showed that the two methods improved the activity of cervical vertebrae, but there was no difference between the control group and the control group after one course of treatment. The ROM score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group at each time point(P < 0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of contralateral acupuncture in treating cervical headache is a result of routine acupuncture, which can significantly improve the patient’s headache symptoms and accompanying symptoms. The clinical operation is simple and safe, and the long-term efficacy is significant.Figure 0;Table 10;Reference 105...
