Research On Modern Medical Monthly Of The Period Of The Republic Of China

During the republic of China,Chinese society was unstable.Under the impact of western medicine and domestic government exclusion and other multiple factors,the contradictions between Chinese and western medicine are more intensified.The issue shifted from academic debate to the abolition of TCM.As a result,the TCM,which has been inherited for thousands of years,is facing a huge crisis and the organizations of TCM launched a self-help campaign.Doctors of TCM in fujian seek a way for the inheritance and development of TCM by setting up academic groups,setting up schools of TCM,setting up journals of TCM and taking part in the petition to Nanjing.Born in a family of TCM,Yu Shenchu has had a keen interest in TCM since childhood.During study in Shanghai,Yu Shenchu not only made great efforts to improve his medical skills,but also took an active part in the struggle against traditional Chinese medicine and accumulated a lot of experience.In 1933,Yu Shenchu returned to his hometown after finishing his studies,he founded Modern Medical Monthly with his father,which lasted for 4 years and has 4 volumes and 44 issues of existing materials.It is one of the comprehensive TCM journals that was established earlier and published for a long time,and has a certain influence in fujian.At the beginning of its establishment,the journal has received extensive attention and support from the Chinese medical community,and has hired dozens of Chinese medical celebrities as social directors and special writers.Modern Medical Monthly has a large number of columns,covering speech,theory,prescription,hygiene,notes,miscellaneous,monograph,case examination,medical case,comment,etc.,and with the mature experience in running the journal,different columns have been merged and divided,making the layout of the journal more reasonable.With the aim of "advocating and researching",Modern Medical Monthly advocates the maintenance and development of TCM,gathers the strength of TCM,devotes itself to the collation and research of TCM and the exchange of doctors’ clinical experience,and actively researches and absorbs the essence of western medicine.In the adverse environment of the dispute over the survival and abolition of TCM,the journal follows closely the current situation,and discusses the way for the inheritance and development of TCM from the aspects of arousing the practitioners of TCM to study the medicine,establishing TCM schools,reflecting on the internal problems of TCM seeking the unity of TCM,practicing the scientific practice of TCM,and commenting on the policy interests of TCM.In addition,at that time in the medical and health conditions are not developed,the journal attaches importance to the popularization of health knowledge,for people to understand the epidemic disease,disease prevention and treatment,disease care and health awareness and so on have played a positive role.This paper focuses on the literature collation method,through the comprehensive collation and research of Modern Medical Monthly,explores its clinical value,academic value and literature value,and then discusses its contribution to the inheritance and development of TCM in fujian during the republic of China.
