The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of the masterpieces by Mark Twain. This novel breaks against the language of traditional novels, forming unique features of language. This novel has been translated into many languages in the world, including seventy Chinese versions, among which Zhang Wanli's,Cheng Shi's,and Zhang Yousong,Zhang Zhenxian's are the most popular. The art of fiction translation is expected to be consistent with the style of the original in the process of translation. However, many translators ignore it,which can be effectively avoided by introducing literary stylistics which analyzes literary texts using the tools of linguistics,a bridge between linguistics and literary criticism.Foregrounding,a very important concept in literary stylistics, means variations from norm to attract the readers' or listeners, attention,to make them feel fresh, strange, amazing, resulting in a strong aesthetic value. In short, foregrounding is a kind of deviation of art.Based on Leech and Short's checklist in their book Style in Fiction, this thesis will compare the three Chinese versions from the aspects of lexical categories, grammatical categories, spelling and phonological schemes, figures of speech, and cohesion. The author will discuss mainly from the foregrounding features which obviously embody the style of this novel,so as to find out how the styles of the original are exactly reproduced,to explore significance of literary stylistics on the style translation of fiction. This research adopts qualitative and quantitative approaches, mainly by qualitative approach which contains descriptive method and comparative study method.Through this research,it's found that the styles of the original are reflected differently, and some Chinese versions fail to reproduce the style of original and aesthetic value; In addition, this study also proves that literary stylistics can be used as the theoretical basis of the reappearance of the original style.Literary stylistics can provide an objective evaluation standard for style translation of fiction, helping us to appreciate and understand the literature works from a new perspective and scientific basis.Through this research, the author hopes that the translators will attach importance to the writing style and the aesthetic value of the original, enhancing their awareness of writing skills to reflect the style and the aesthetic value of the original, also hopes to be able to help readers better understand and appreciate literature works.
