The Effect Of Moral Violations Subject And State Of Cleanliness On Moral Judgement

With the development of modernization and the advent of the information age,the concepts and ideas are changing rapidly.Many traditional moral concepts have been gradually abandoned,at the same time new moral concepts begin to be accepted by people.But it is also difficult to avoid the challenges which are from various aspects.The moral problem has been paid attention by the whole society.Moral values affect people's moral judgment directly and moral judgment also influences the people's moral behavior.Moral judgment is an important part in the moral field,as well as the key contents of research in this field.With the rise of embodied cognition,many researchers study moral judgment from the perspective of embodied cognition.The metaphor of "cleanliness next to virtue" is into the people's vision and becomes known by us.But "cleanliness next to virtue" is also controversial.Researchers have drawn different conclusions in different cultural backgrounds.In the past,almost all the pepole studied moral problems from the perspective of self-cleanliness and the main subjects of the moral violation behaviours are other people,not oneself.Rarely referring to oneself is also in western culture.Therefore,this study will be carried out two experiments in local cultural background.Experiment one will try to expand the state of cleanliness from our body into the environment and study the effect of"cleanliness next to virtue " in ChineseCulture,at the same time try to study whether there will be difference in peoples'moral judgment between self-moral violation and other 's from the level of consciousness.Experiment two will be carried out a further research by Implicit Association Test based on the results of Experiment one.It will study whether there will be difference in peoples'moral judgment between self-moral violation and other 's from the level of unconsciousness.The results show that:(1)The state of cleanliness has an significant effect on the moral judgment.The score of individual moral judgment in clean condition is significant higher than that in non clean condition.It shows that there is also the effect of " cleanliness next to virtue"in Chinese cultural background.(2)The score of individual moral judgment on self-moral violation is significant higher than that on other's.It means that people hold more stringent standards when they give score on self-moral violation than that on other's.The result is different from some foreign researchs'.(3)People hold more stringent standards when they give score on other's moral violation than that on self-moral violation from the level of unconsciousness.This is just the opposite with the result of Experiment one...
