With the advent of the Internet and the increasing number of Internet users, cyber language has become an important part of language life.Because of its increasing importance, the study of cyber language has become a hot topic in linguistic field. At the beginning of 2017,the construction “Wo(I)ke neng(may/maybe)X1 jia(fake)X2” quickly became prevalent on all major cyber platforms.Because of its humor and novelty, this construction attracts a lot of attention, even some linguistic researchers began to study this particular structure trying to explain the value of the structure type.Cognitive Construction Grammar provides a different angle for the study of cyber constructions. As a branch of Construction grammar,Cognitive Construction Grammar, from the perspective of cognitive linguistics and narrow embedded experience, intends to establish a new way to describe and explain linguistic phenomenon. This paper takes Cognitive Construction Grammar as the theoretical foundation to analyze “Wo(I)ke neng(may/maybe)X1 jia(fake)X2” construction. In the present study, the author associates Productivity of construction,Usage-based Model and Construction Coercion,in order to construct a framework for the analysis of this cyber construction as well as offer a theoretical support to the interpretation of its cognitive mechanism. From syntactic, pragmatic among other perspectives to discuss this cyber construction is the focus of the present study.Based on data collection and analysis, the author finds that the origin of the usage and variations of the character “jia(fake)” follow the rule of cognition,in favor of the full analysis of this construction and its cognitive mechanism.A diachronic and synchronic analysis helps to answer the question about whether the character “jia(fake)” plays a leading role to establish the meaning and better facilitates the understanding the cognitive mechanism within the construction.Additionally,in the diachronic evolution process of the character “jia(fake)”,the changes in its part of speech as well as its semantic and pragmatic changes lead to the corresponding changes in its lexical composition or construction pattern. Therefore, the author conducts a discussion in terms of its syntactic features, semantic features and pragmatic features and symbolic features,to give a detailed interpretation for the cognitive mechanism of the construction.A study of cyber language from syntactic, semantic, pragmatic and symbolic perspectives, can be hopefully effective in interpreting the meaning of specific cyber language expressions.
